They claimed to be from O2 and seemed to have accessed my computer. They even asked if I was currently at my desk. That’s when I decided to end the call.

I've received five calls from this number today alone. I've simply let my voicemail handle them all.

I've been receiving calls from this number multiple times each day over the past fortnight. I've not picked up yet, but it's really beginning to irritate me as it seems to be some sort of scam.

They've rung me three times today already, and only the very first one actually went through - definitely NOT Microsoft. I was really hoping for a bit of a laugh messing with them. There's gotta be some way to block these annoying calls. Sometimes I have to stop what I'm doing just to answer, only to get stuck with these bloody nuisances.

The call ended abruptly after just a brief moment-sounds like the caller's a contact saved automatically, perhaps?

Got a call earlier about my windows PC, which was strange cos I mostly use an iMac, although I do have a laptop. I told the bloke I had no idea what he was on about. He had an Asian accent, and then he just started chuckling and suddenly ended the call :-/

Got a call from someone claiming to be the Microsoft service centre. They said my computer had a corrupted file and they’d gotten an error message about it. Seemed dodgy to me!

Watch out for these con artists who purport to be from Microsoft's security division! If you pick up the phone and hold for a moment, you’ll likely encounter someone with an Indian dialect masquerading under a thoroughly British-sounding name (I got "Jack Wilson" for example). They’ll insist they’re from Microsoft’s tech support, claiming your computer is infested with a virus and running sluggishly. For kicks, I decided to humour one of these calls for about five minutes; they attempted to persuade me to download TeamViewer and set it up on my fictitious Windows PC (which, by the way, I don’t own). Despite that, I played along. Once you’ve supposedly installed the software, they’ll request your partner ID and password to initiate a remote connection. Should you grant them access, their next step is to threaten to erase vital system files unless you cough up some cash to have them restored. PLEASE, AVOID FALLING INTO THIS TRAP! If you ever find yourself on the line with them, drag it out for as long as you can, and when the conversation starts to wear thin, simply inform them that you don’t have a Windows machine or, better yet, that you don’t own a computer at all! Trust me, it unsettles them quite a bit.

I've been getting calls non stop all day long for the past two weeks. I just ignore them since they never leave a message. Fingers crossed they’ll quit soon.

They rang me again today, claiming there was something wrong with my Microsoft computer. Thing is, I don't even own one! The first person I spoke to got quite stroppy, insisting I did have one. When they called today, I just replied with "what again?" and they just ended the call. I'm registered with the TPS too, so how on earth did they get my number?

If you’re looking to make them quit calling, being polite just doesn’t cut it, and getting mad doesn’t seem to work either. Just call them out for what they really are - pests, or even worse. That usually shuts them up quick! Unfortunately, the rubbish laws we’ve got here in the UK let BT keep flogging people’s details without getting into any trouble at all. It’s about time the government stopped sitting on their hands and did something about this privacy invasion. But I doubt that’ll ever happen, since they’re probably too busy lining their own pockets to care.

I just attempted to call the number back, but got to the phone a bit late. Before I could finish dialing, I heard a weird high-pitched sound saying something like "number not recognised."

I keep getting calls from someone with an Indian accent who goes on and on about Windows on computers and phones. They ring me three or four times daily, and it’s really annoying. They don’t seem to stop no matter how many times I tell them to.

This one bloke has phoned me like four separate times this week, all coming from some call centre. Feels like they’re just dusting off some outdated XP key account details to keep hassling people with spam calls.

Got a call from someone with an asian accent saying my account had some weird activity. He kept going on with more nonsense but I just told him he was talking rubbish and then ended the call. These calls really mess up my workday, I can’t stand them.

Got a call from them yesterday with the exact same spiel. I told them I wasn’t interested since my son’s already a certified Microsoft engineer. Ended the call quickly. But guess what? They rang me twice today as well.

I'm registered on TPS, so how on earth did this number 0212515478 manage to get through?! Really puzzling.

No one ever answers when I pick up. My private, unlisted landline has been getting loads of unwanted calls from all sorts of different numbers lately. I’ve blocked any that actually show a number. This one is new to me. I’ve decided to forward my landline to my mobile today so I can block these annoying calls more easily. Honestly, it’s really frustrating. Why is there no way to put a stop to this? You’d think Microsoft or someone big would step in to help out just to keep their name clean. This kind of thing surely can’t be good for their image.

I got cut off right away, same thing happened the last two days! Are they trying to make you use 1471 then ring them again or what?

A caller from some place called Range Me claimed they were reaching out about my computer. I straight up told them I recognised their antics as a scam, and then they promptly ended the call.

No idea who they were.

Got a call from someone claiming there’d been hacking activity on my PC. Told me it was from Windows or something like that. Well, wasn’t that just lovely!
