Total scam this one. Some dodgy person rang me claiming to be from the TPS, saying my registration was about to run out and I needed to pay to fix it. I told them my husband works in the police, and they just dropped the call instantly. It’s sick how they’re ripping off people, especially using robo-calls to dodge proper phone lines. Definitely block these fraudsters!

He rang me again claiming to be from the telephone preference service and wanted my card’s expiry date. Told me it wasn’t a scam but when I asked for his own phone number, he refused, saying he knew why people asked and that they never call back. So pushy and not professional at all, definitely not legit.

Got a call around 4.55pm and I said hello but no reply, then just caught a weird fragment of a word before the call suddenly dropped. Really irritating.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, their English was rubbish. They said they were sorting out all the annoying calls we get. But then out of nowhere, they started talking about direct debits and how my debit card would expire in 2019. I didn't give them any info and just hung up. Just a heads up to watch out for this kind of scam.

Got a call again from this number, person wanted me to verify my ID. I asked what company they were with, then they just hung up on me.

Got a call from a guy with a foreign-sounding accent saying he was from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked for my name, where I live and postcode, then switched me over to a "supervisor" who sounded less foreign. The supervisor told me to grab my chequebook and wanted me to confirm my bank sort-code. I reckon he would've asked for even more info if I didn't stop him. I said no way, he kept insisting he needed my details, but I told him I was going to hang up and look up the phone number myself - and then I just ended the call.

Got a call from this number just before 7pm - the fourth time today! It was someone from a 'call preference service' with a pretty thick accent. I told him straight up it sounds like a scam and he’d probably try to get my bank info. He quickly ended the call after that.

This number has rang me 8 times today. Some Indian guy called John kept ringing. He said he was from Telephone Preference Service but then hit me with a tricky yes/no question right after. It was something like, “Have you experienced scam callers recently?” I told him it was odd since I’m already signed up with their service, so I didn’t see why he was calling. Then I just hung up. Usually, saying that stops them from calling again.
