My number has unfortunately been faked by someone. I recommend reaching out to your network provider with the specific dates and times when you received the unwanted calls, as this will assist them in tracking down the source. This guidance was given to me by BT's nuisance department, as they require that information to investigate. Just to clarify, I haven't made any calls to you.

Claimed to be from TalkTalk, mentioning that my computer was involved in some dodgy activities. Seriously, why do we tolerate these sorts of calls? It feels like we're just encouraging this nonsense to persist! - the caller said they were from TalkTalk, huh?

The caller seemed quite amiable and claimed to be from Talk Talk’s Technical Support team, addressing me by name no less. They informed me that my broadband service was on the verge of being cut off due to some error messages emanating from my router. This marks about the tenth time I’ve received a similar call, although this is the first from this particular number, with each one mentioning router errors. I responded by mentioning that I was aware Talk Talk had suffered a data breach recently, resulting in customer information being compromised, which made me sceptical about receiving any calls from them. I conveyed my belief that this was likely yet another ruse to coax me into either logging onto a dodgy site or providing my banking details, neither of which I was willing to entertain. I made it clear that I would block the number and report it as a scam. At that point, the caller promptly hung up. - caller: unknown

The moment I hinted that they might be up to no good and possibly hacking, they abruptly ended the call. Beware of this number! - caller: 020 8995 7406

POTENTIAL SCAMMER ALERT This caller pretended to represent TalkTalk and had my TalkTalk account number at his fingertips. They managed to convince me to navigate to command.com and execute netstatus.com. At that point, it didn’t seem too perilous. However, the conversation took a worrying turn when they insisted I download teamviewer.com, which I know grants remote access to my computer. Naturally, I declined and swiftly terminated the call. - caller: POTENTIAL SCAMMER
