5 yearsI got a call saying I’d won a historic payout of £3350. They claimed they just needed to confirm my identity by asking what phone I have. Then they told me to head to the Google Play store and download an app. Turns out, it was a sneaky ruse to get me to install a remote access app so they could control my phone from afar. When I said no, they tried to transfer me to a 'supervisor'. They tried to sound English, but with their strong Asian accents, it was pretty obvious these were call centre scammers.
