Seemed a bit sketchy and flapped. Not really convinced it was legit, they didn’t sound like they actually understood my account or how long the reader had been active (you'd expect PayPal to have that info). Just felt off, really.

I actually rang back through the PayPal account callback option and checked it out with them, but this is definitely a scam, not PayPal! If you want to be sure, just use the callback feature in your own PayPal app and ask them for details.

TOTALLY A SCAM!!! At first they acted all professional and convincing, but then they wanted me to click a link they’d send by email. PayPal NEVER asks you to do that, they always say to log in through your own account. I double-checked by calling PayPal using the number from my actual PayPal app and this was NOT them, definitely a scam! If you want to be safe, get in touch with PayPal directly using the call-back option inside your PayPal app. Don’t fall for it!

I’m always wary of scams, so i was a bit anxious at the start, but this really turned out to be a proper PayPal service. I bought a reader from a bloke called David, who emailed me to confirm everything was above board. When he asked for my card info, i felt a bit uneasy, especially as I tried paying directly from my PayPal balance, but then they told me he couldn’t use that method (which actually made me feel safer). I gave him my details in the end, and the device showed up within a couple days. Cheers for that!

Got a ring from this number today, and I'm pretty sure it's a legit Paypal rep pushing card readers. Like loads of folks who got the call, I was wary since the guy sounded really dodgy, more like a street vendor than someone selling finance stuff. As soon as I hung up, I looked up the number online and found this site.

Got a call from this number earlier. The guy didn’t bother saying who he was, just randomly mentioned something about me having downloaded the PayPal app recently. When I asked him to explain what he was talking about, he jumped in saying I supposedly had a PayPal reader and wanted to know how it was working out for me. I told him I wasn’t interested and asked if he had a point to make, and then, out of nowhere, he just cut me off and hung up. Pretty rich for some telemarketer or scammer to slam the phone down on you!

At first, I was really doubtful because the person on the phone seemed quite nervous and not very professional. But turns out, it really was someone from the PayPal sales team since they sent me a confirmation email from a genuine PayPal.com address. Received a call from a chap with a somewhat youthful tone who simply uttered 'hello' before abruptly ending the call. Quite peculiar, really, as this has been happening daily.
