This wasn’t the genuine O2 ringing me up. It was a dodgy number pretending to be from O2. The caller claimed they could give me a whopping 40% off my existing contract. Problem is, I’ve never been with O2, so I straight away saw through the ruse!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with O2, offering a discount on my contract. They said they’d send me two texts - one for security and another with a code. Then they wanted me to read out that code. But the message actually said they’re not from O2 and to never share the code. The caller was pushy, insisting they just sent the messages and that they were O2 from the US, needing the code to go ahead. ***** DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE, THEY’RE NOT LEGIT FROM O2. *****

O2 told me this is a trick where they ask for a code, then order an iPhone 13 but switch the delivery address to theirs, leaving you stuck with the bill. If you think you’ve fallen for this awful scam, ring O2 straight away!
