Got a call from someone claiming to be with Carphone Warehouse, but honestly the whole thing sounded really dodgy and the guy’s accent was almost impossible to follow. He kept pushing an iPhone 13 deal for £40 a month. I told him I wasn’t the account holder and asked to be removed from their list, but he just ended the call straight away. Definitely feels a bit fishy if you ask me.

I received a call from someone at Carphone Warehouse, and I must say, their Indian accent was quite pronounced.

Why is it that nobody, whether official bodies or anyone else, seems to be tackling this crazy amount of phone spam? Wish I knew how to block or stop these calls for good. It's getting so annoying!

I'm absolutely fed up with these bloody calls on my mobile. They keep ringing because they reckon if just a tiny fraction of people call back their number, they’ve got a win. The weird thing is, the calls are usually just nonsense, like you can’t make out a word, so people see an 020 number and think nothing of it - then ring it straight from their phone. That’s when you get stung or scammed. I’ve got a setup on my landline where I can call 01, 02, 03 numbers for free up to 59 minutes. When I couldn’t understand the call on my mobile, I tried ringing the number on my landline, but it just kept ringing and then made a strange sound, so I hung up and blocked it on both my phones. These scams mostly target contract mobiles so the poor sod ends up getting charged for something dodgy. Honestly, these crooks deserve to be caught and dealt with, harshly.

Got a call out of the blue from someone claiming to be from a Samsung shop, talking about some "special deal". She asked how I was, and I said "Not great". She answered with "I'm fine, thanks" like she wasn’t really paying attention. Then she wanted to know what kind of phone I had, and I said "No idea". After that, she just said "Thanks, bye" and hung up. Very odd experience.
