Somebody called saying they were from Carphone Warehouse but honestly I couldn’t really understand what they were on about. When I asked how they got my details, they just ended the call straight away. Seems like it could’ve been a scam.

Just got a call like this out the blue, and I’ve never even been in touch with Carphone Warehouse or asked for a new phone. When I tried ringing back, the number was dead - really fishy if you ask me. It’s lucky we’re all more woke about these scams nowadays, and honestly, these forums are brilliant for helping us call out scammers and not get caught out!

I just picked up and ended the call straight away.

someone rang me saying they were from carphone warehouse. i questioned them about how they managed to get my number as i’m not even a customer there. they claimed it was from a shared database that all mobile networks add to. i found that hard to believe and asked again. their explanation was that it’s a joint database used by all providers. they tried to push an iphone sale on me. i ended the call. sounded like he was from somewhere in the sub-continent. earlier today i got a call from a similar number - 02089544814 - but no one picked up. definitely seems like a scam.

Someone rang saying they were from Carphone Warehouse. I told them I wasn’t a customer, so how did they get my number? They claimed it came from a shared mobile providers’ database. I found that odd and asked for more details, but they just pushed an iPhone sale and I ended the call. The accent sounded like it was from the Sub-Continent. Earlier today, I’d also got a call from a very similar number - 02089544814 - but no one picked up then. Definitely seems like a scam to me.
