Somebody called saying they were from Carphone Warehouse but honestly I couldn’t really understand what they were on about. When I asked how they got my details, they just ended the call straight away. Seems like it could’ve been a scam.

I've just received a call from the same number. I've neither applied for a new phone nor contacted Carphone Warehouse at all. When you try to ring back, the line is dead-definitely raises a few eyebrows. Fortunately, we're much more vigilant about these con artists nowadays, and I'm really thankful for these discussion platforms. It’s great to join forces with others and demonstrate to these fraudsters that we're not easily fooled!

someone rang me saying they were from carphone warehouse. i questioned them about how they managed to get my number as i’m not even a customer there. they claimed it was from a shared database that all mobile networks add to. i found that hard to believe and asked again. their explanation was that it’s a joint database used by all providers. they tried to push an iphone sale on me. i ended the call. sounded like he was from somewhere in the sub-continent. earlier today i got a call from a similar number - 02089544814 - but no one picked up. definitely seems like a scam.

I received a call earlier today from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. Naturally, I found it odd as I’ve never been their customer. When I inquired about how they obtained my mobile number, the caller mentioned it was sourced from some sort of shared database among mobile network providers. He proceeded to pitch an iPhone at me, but it all felt rather off. I promptly ended the call. To add to my suspicion, I had another call from a similar number - 02089544814 - but the line went silent when I picked up. Seems like yet another scam attempt to me.
