I got a call on our office phone from an unknown number. When I picked up, some bloke asked if he was speaking to Mr Yates, which I'm not. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call about some washing machine insurance with a supposed 33% off. They wanted the first four digits of my Natwest bank account to give a payment quote - weirdly, those numbers are just about the same for everyone! Such scammers, proper disgusting behaviour from these idiots.

I got a call from a bloke who sounded quite legitimate, saying my washing machine warranty was about to run out, which definitely wasn’t true! He then pushed a £199 deal covering three years. I asked him to give me more info and told him to ring me back later in the afternoon. While waiting, I checked Which magazine’s website and found out it’s a well-known scam. I kept chatting to him for ages, and eventually, he cottoned on that I wasn’t fooled and that I knew he was up to no good, apparently operating from London.

Got a call from 02089167315 about some washing machine insurance that supposedly ran out, which I know it didn't! The guy on the phone, who said he was the manager named Martin James, wanted my bank details - sort code and account number. He claimed he was from Appliance Plan Aftercare. When I refused to give him any info, he sounded quite annoyed. Definitely felt like a dodgy call!

Got a call today telling me my washing machine's warranty was up, then they started going on about how they could renew it. When I asked what model they were talking about, they couldn’t even get it right. After that, they just hung up on me. Proper rude and clueless scammers, honestly.

SCAM ALERT - Got a call claiming my Bosch washing machine warranty was nearly up and they were offering a discount to renew it. They said they’d send the documents in a few days and asked me to confirm my card info straight away to renew. I told them I wouldn’t share bank details until I’d seen the paperwork first. Then they said Covid was stopping them from sending anything out! Just as I was about to say forget it, they cut me off. Honestly, don’t waste your time with these folks - I regret giving them my name and address. Feeling proper annoyed at myself now!

I didn’t know the number at first, but since I’m a carer for my mum and dad, I have to pick up every phone call. I hesitated to answer right away because the code reminded me of a scammy call my husband had just got the day before. In the end, the call got cut off when I didn’t say anything. I’m almost sure it was a scam, and it worries me because they might trick older or vulnerable folks if they manage to speak to them.

Got a call from 02089167315. I usually just let it ring out without saying anything. As soon as they hang up, you can tell it's dodgy. Don’t waste your time chatting and just let them rack up the cost. I’ve found it’s better to pick up, have a quick chat, make up some excuse, then put the phone down - that way they get charged more. Anyway, I’ve blocked them now! I reckon I ended up on their scammy lists after asking for a free perfume sample - which just goes to show, free stuff is a myth! Good luck out there, people.

Apparently, it’s my insurance company for the washing machine. I decided to let her chatter on for a bit-nothing like dragging out their time, eh? But as soon as we hit the bit about the direct debit, I couldn’t help but ask how she sleeps soundly at night. That did the trick-she hung up! It’s not the first time they’ve bothered me lately either.

What an utterly obnoxious individual! He claimed my washing machine's warranty was about to expire today. When I expressed my disbelief, his rudeness escalated to a level that was frankly astonishing-he nonchalantly remarked he "couldn't care less." That was the final straw for me; I promptly ended the call. I genuinely hope his boss gets wind of this incident. He introduced himself as Christian, but I'm inclined to think that too was a fabrication.

I had a rather unpleasant experience when I enquired about the nature of the call. A rather curt woman snapped back, “I just wanted to know if this is Mr. xxxxxx,” before abruptly ending the conversation! Seems like she might be having a tough time. Perhaps she should consider a new line of work!
