I received three phone calls over the span of 48 hours. During the initial pair, I picked up only to find myself saying "hello" into the silence with no response. Eventually, a chap asks, "Is this Mark?" To which I cheekily replied, "Surprisingly not," before terminating the call. Come the third call, they seemed to have learned from their previous blunders; a different voice inquired if Mark was about. When I informed him that he wasn't, he had the audacity to say he had the divorce papers my husband supposedly requested! I swiftly ended the conversation. - caller: Just some fool who can't seem to secure a decent job.

I recently had the misfortune of getting a call from a chap named Thomas Smith from Imperial Collectibles. Honestly, what a right nuisance! He was babbling on in the most obnoxious manner, as if he was auditioning for the role of Most Annoying Salesperson. This gentleman was trying to peddle what he deemed 'fine art', which looked like it belonged in a toddler's craft box-maybe worth a mere couple of shillings. It was laughable, especially when he somehow assumed that my comment about having a decent sum available meant I was keen to buy his overpriced kids' doodles. Honestly, does he think anyone is naïve enough to fall for this nonsense? I mean, come on! The caller was, of course, the infamous Thomas Smith… from Imperial Collectibles.
