I had an unexpected phone call from +4420 8911 9797 at 19:38 on a Saturday night. I didn’t announce my name, just waited in silence to see if they’d say anything. In the end, they hung up without uttering a word.

Got a call supposedly from O2 saying they’d knock £40 off my next bill, no real explanation except I apparently had some ‘golden number’. You could hear loads of noise like a packed call centre in the background. I just told them no cheers and ended the call. Usually if O2 are giving discounts or prizes, they send a letter or email first. Felt a bit iffy to me.
