got a call earlier and when i asked who it was, they said Fisher Investments. i told them i hadn’t asked for any info from them in the last 4 years. then i told him to remove my details under the data protection act 2018 (including gdpr). he asked me to say my full name again. i told him he just asked and already knows it, but said it anyway. then he wanted my postcode and address like it was their rule. i said i’m blocking his number and hung up. watch out for this kinda thing.

I received a rather unexpected call from my energy provider, Ebico. They informed me about some legal proceedings that would result in all their customers being switched over automatically to another provider, Southern Electric, unless we expressed a desire to stick with Ebico. They requested my postcode or email for verification, and I opted for the postcode since it seemed less sensitive. To my surprise, they already had my personal details on file. It all seemed above board, yet it felt a bit odd to receive such a call out of nowhere. To be on the safe side, I rang up Ebico directly, and they reassured me that these calls are indeed genuine. So, it appears to be all above board.

Received a call on the 23rd of June, 2017, at around 18:55. A lady on the line professed to represent my electric company and inquired if I was interested in switching my tariff.

For the past six years, this number has been persistently calling us, looking for someone whose name we don't even recognise. They've assured us time and again that they would rectify the situation, yet the calls just keep coming. Honestly, we’ve resorted to slamming the phone down every single time they ring now.

On the second message, I think the woman worked out what was happening 'cause she muttered something like “oh bugger, what a tosser.” There was loads of chuckling in the background and someone saying “for heaven’s sake, I keep ringing but there's no answer.” No clue who these people are!

Perusing the earlier comments, it appears this number is associated with phone insurance offers. I keep receiving calls from them, but they only seem to ring for a split second before cutting off. I've yet to have the opportunity to engage with them, which is rather frustrating, as I’d love to inform them that I have ample coverage for my phone through my bank and don’t require any additional insurance!
