A few days back, I attempted to block this number but it didn’t do any good. A woman with a Northern accent called me, claiming she spoke to me about buying books back in March 2017. She even said the call was recorded! If you get a call from this number, don’t share any info with them. I’ve reported them to Action Fraud and strongly recommend you do the same if you experience something similar, otherwise they’ll just keep on going.

Got a call earlier from a woman saying thanks for sponsoring a nearby school, then telling me the sponsorship had finished and asking where to send the bill if I wanted to keep supporting. I’ve had calls from this number before so I just ended the call straight away.

They hung up the moment I picked up the phone.

For over a decade now, this company has been running the same dodgy scheme and yet nothing’s been done to stop them! Seriously, why hasn’t anyone stepped in? The phone provider really should cut off their line immediately.

Total rip off! The moment I said I hadn't signed up for any school stuff or anything, she just ended the call straight away.

I got a call too, they were thanking me for backing some health and safety stuff for schools and said they put my name in a booklet. I told them I don’t run a business and never gave permission for anything like that, then they just cut me off.

Got a call from 020 8894 798 saying we’d spoken back in April about me sponsoring some anti-bullying leaflet for schools, and they wanted to know where to send the bill. I asked loads of questions because I was certain I never said yes to anything like that. They said the cost was £199! Absolutely no way I’d agree to that, feels like a proper scam to me. When I made it clear I wasn’t interested, the woman ended the call sharpish. These sort of people really ought to be stopped.

What a joke! Got a call earlier saying we’d chatted before and that I’d agreed to support some crime prevention leaflet. Been getting these calls on and off for about 7 years now, so I just told her to jog on and called her out as a total liar. How come they’re still pulling this after all this time?! They really need to be shut down!!!

I asked if he was expecting my call and after I mentioned FD by name, he just hung up. Honestly, I'm so tired of these constant spam calls! Wish there was a way to stop them for good.

Got a call earlier saying thanks for sponsoring some kids protection program, that now the payments were due. Thing is, we have never sponsored anything like that! It's gotta be a scam, no doubt about it. People like that should definitely be reported, such lowlifes. What a nasty trick.

Got a call earlier today from someone claiming we'd talked a while back about sponsoring kids' books. I told her she must be mistaken as we'd never chatted before, then she just ended the call.

Got a call earlier claiming it was about some school book sponsorship we supposedly did, maybe ages ago in March or something. I told them I had no clue what they were going on about, but they kept pushing, asking which school to put the books in. I just kept saying I had no idea what they meant, and then they ended the call. Feels like they want you to name a school so they can say you’ve agreed to sponsor books there or use that to sneak your payment info. Best bet? Don’t say anything, just tell them you didn’t order anything and hang up right away. Don't get drawn into any chat.

Got a call earlier saying I’d sponsored some books for schools about internet safety and kids. Sounded dodgy straight away, so I told them it wasn’t me. Seems like they just send you a bill for stuff you never agreed to. Total scam if you ask me.

Loads of people have mentioned it’s a total scam, so my best advice is just to end the call straight away. On the plus side, after they called me three times, I actually upset the woman on the other end and she ended up crying.

How come the police haven't shut this scam down yet? It's pretty worrying that these things keep happening without any action.

Absolute sc@m, these muppets claim you’ve signed up to advertise for sick kids. When I asked for any proof, like a voice recording or something, and told her off proper, she just hung up on me. Total idiots trying to take the mick.

Honestly, I don't get how these people manage to sleep at night - it's just sickening. I just got a call from them and had absolutely no clue what on earth the woman was babbling about. Total nonsense.

This number’s been ringing me daily for the past week. The first time I picked up, they just went quiet and hung up. Since then, they’ve been nonstop calling, probably cos they know someone’s on the other end. Weirdly enough, their number seems to be missing a digit or something - definitely not a full phone number.

They called me again, saying I agreed to pay £159 to sponsor books for a school nearby. Then they asked if the school could send me a thank you note or visit me personally. Obviously, they were just trying to get my address or email for an invoice!

Got a call from 0208894798, some scammer pretending to be from Child Protection Services. They said we had spoken before and that I agreed to pay some kind of advertising fee. Honestly, it sounded fishy straight away. Definitely report it to Action Fraud, the more reports they get the better the chances they’ll do something about it. Just Google "Action Fraud" and pick the option about being asked to pay upfront with promises like a job, lottery, inheritance or insurance. Stay safe!

Got a call from this number saying they have these online safety books for schools ready to send out, and asked if I wanted to pick some schools to receive the ones I supposedly sponsored! I got caught by a similar con before, so I wasn’t falling for it again. The woman even insisted someone from their group had contacted me back in March - yeah, sure!

It was pretty obvious straight away this was a sales pitch. They took a bit too long, got my name totally wrong, and when I didn’t go along with it, they became quite rude.
