I got this call from someone who definitely wasn’t a native English speaker, reading off some script. There was a bunch of shouting and noise in the background, like a call centre full of people trying to pretend they’re from BT or some other phone provider. You’d expect if they’re going to try and con you, they’d at least try to sound a bit real, but nah, it was so obvious.
