I received a call on my landline from someone claiming to be from BT. They mentioned there had been service disruptions due to some suspicious activity on my internet connection. Oddly enough, they sent a PIN code to my mobile-I'm baffled as to how they got hold of that number. The code did indeed look like it was from BT's usual messaging service. After that, I decided to reach out to BT via their chat support. They looked into it and assured me there were no outages, had no knowledge of the number that contacted me, and confirmed there was no record of any outreach from BT. I'm left wondering whether it was a legitimate call or merely a scam, but I've chosen to disregard it for now.
