I had a rather dubious phone call purporting to be from Royal Mail, demanding payment for a parcel. They knew my name but couldn’t verify any other information. It’s clearly a scam of the highest order!

If you've gotten a call from this number purporting to be Royal Mail in London, I urge you not to share any personal details! They’re likely to know your name and might request your email to verify a parcel, then try to trick you into paying for shipping. Be very cautious and steer clear of these tactics; it’s a near miss indeed!

This number keeps ringing me at all sorts of hours, but whenever I pick up, it’s just a robotic voice saying “thank you for calling.” Must be some sort of annoying spam marketing call or something. Proper frustrating!

Just like the others, this is clearly a con. Avoid sharing your card details with these tricksters, they'll clean out your bank account in no time. Trust me, this is NOT the Royal Mail you’re dealing with!

I have a strong suspicion it's either some sort of sales pitch or a scam, as I don't know anyone in the London region.

I received a message claiming they had a little parcel for me, but I suspect they’re nothing more than con artists!

Echoing what others have mentioned here, I've received a similar call. Someone with an Asian accent reached out, claiming to be from Royal Mail regarding a minor package weighing 0.75 kilos. They insisted that I needed to make a pre-payment since the sender neglected to affix a stamp on the item. ***TOTAL SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!***

I've had a similar experience with a parcel weighing 0.75kg. All I need is an email address to sort out the payment for the shipping fees. Just a heads up, it all seems dodgy to me, so for goodness’ sake, don't share any of your personal information with them!

I was informed that a parcel from Royal Mail was being kept at the depot due to unpaid postage by the sender. However, I haven’t received any notification from them regarding this package, nor was I anticipating any deliveries. Quite odd, really!

What a total con! They rang me, pretending to be from the post office in South London, insisting I needed to cough up cash for postage to have my parcel redelivered. Absolute nonsense!

Received a notification from Royal Mail indicating there’s a parcel waiting for me to collect.

I received a notification claiming that Royal Mail has a parcel awaiting collection. They took my email address while speaking on the phone, and later fired off an email with a dodgy link. Apparently, the sender failed to cover the postage costs, and I was instructed to settle the payment. It’s clearly a big scam, and it's unfortunate that many might fall victim to it.
