They have a voicemail that says they're tied up, but you can press 1 to unsubscribe. I tried that, but all I got was the same recording playing over and over. Proper annoying! :-/

Said it was some sort of motor accident claims department or something like that. Asked for his address but when I asked him to give me a moment, he just kept pushing me to listen. Had an accent that sounded like he was from the Indian subcontinent, and his English wasn’t very clear. Ended up hanging up. Complete waste of time.

Got a call from some guy with an Asian accent saying he was from an Accident Helpline. Ring me up yesterday at 3:01 pm - bloke with an Indian accent wanted to chat about 'my accident' and was taken aback when I said I haven’t had one in over twenty years, touch wood! He reckoned it must be someone I live with, but I live on me own, so no chance. He gave up after a while realising I was just wasting his time with this rubbish. Got called by one of those accident helpline scams from India again. Didn’t hang around long before I started rattling off some Indian swear words I know! That got boring quick, so I switched to some English insults with an Indian accent just for fun. Seemed to confuse them well enough haha. Now I’m thinking of spinning a fake murder story on them next time :-) It’s so frustrating these scams are still going on. I’m baffled BT and others haven’t made these firms pay a big deposit they lose if complaints pile up.

I picked up the phone and some bloke with an Indian accent started on about a car crash. I kept asking him questions to get him to talk himself into a corner. After a while, I told him I don’t have a car (which is true) and told him to get lost, pretty bluntly.

I guess it’s a real shame when someone lets down their own community, whether from the Indian subcontinent or even over here in the UK! The people I’ve met from that background often work bloody hard, sometimes putting in 19 hour shifts, driven by the goal of running their own business. This bloke is the total opposite.
If he thinks that’s tough, maybe he should try scrubbing the floor of a cathedral. That takes just as long, no breaks included! And yes, as usual the excuse was a car crash. I let him go on with his story, just to see how far he’d spin his nonsense, then told him he’s got the wrong number - I don’t own a car! I ended by telling him he should ask his hardworking parents to let him sort out the till and maybe have him start cleaning the floor at midnight on Saturday.

Got a call from this number earlier today, a woman who said her name was Ronnie. She insisted I’d been in an accident that wasn’t my fault. When I asked who she wanted, she curtly said “the owner of this number.” Bit rude if you ask me. I told her to remove me from their calling list. When I asked where she was calling from, she said Accident Helpline in Manchester. Asked for her phone number and she just hung up on me. The number that showed on my phone was 02088686472.

07/01/2016 Phone went off but I was slow to answer. I didn’t know the number so I looked it up on Google. Oddly, it happened just about 5 minutes after someone in my family called their insurance to renew and ask about an old claim. Could be a total coincidence I suppose. Our number is also on the TPS. Around six in the evening I received a call that was completely quiet. About 40 minutes earlier, my mobile rang twice from the number 07746449619, but both times there was silence and I missed the first ring.
