They’ve called me 88 times this year alone about a debt that was cleared more than a decade ago. I just don’t pick up anymore. If you do answer even once, they just keep ringing non stop. They seem to not get what ‘written off’ means and still try to collect. Now they use an automated call every day, which goes straight to my voicemail. Honestly, I think what they’re doing is against the law. Best advice: don’t answer at all. Once you do, they know the number’s active. Blocking doesn’t help either since they still get to leave voicemails. It’s just silly.

This is the second letter i got from these folks claiming i owe £2600 on a credit card ive never owned. They say if i pay £525.02 by a certain deadline, they’ll clear the debt. No chance im falling for it, i still have the first letter too, and the only thing that changed was the payment date. Total SCAM.

Received a letter from Cabot Financial claiming I owe more than £500 on a credit card supposedly sent to Ruthbridge debt collectors. The letter had someone else’s name but my address. The letter looked really genuine. I called the number 02088142299 and a woman with a strong foreign accent answered, I struggled to understand her. I told her the named person wasn’t me but didn’t share my own details. Then I said I’d be contacting the police. She told me to just ignore the letter but I told her I was already reporting it, which I have done.

She told me to ignore the letter but I replied I was reporting it to the police, which I have now done.

I asked them nicely to take my phone number and address off their list, but they got all nasty and started asking if I’m a mechanic and what I’d do if my car breaks down. I said yeah I am and I’d just fix it myself, then they got all smug and started doubting me, asking what kind of mechanic I am and calling me a liar.

Received a call today from 1428BT's Caller Protect, which was promptly blocked. The message was a simple "Thank you for calling." I took the extra step to block the number on my device as well. It seems the call stemmed from Ruthbridge, a debt collection agency.

Got a call today at 1428, but BT Caller Protect stopped it. The message said “Thank You for Calling.” Checked again and it’s a blocked number on my phone too. Looks like it’s from Ruthfield, some sort of debt collection agency. They’re probably trying to get hold of my ex wife since I’ve had mail from a different DCA for her before.

Received a call earlier today at 14:28. My BT Caller Protect software flagged it as a blocked number, and all I could hear was someone saying, "Thank you for calling." To be sure, I added it to my blocked list on my phone too. It seems this number is linked to Ruthbridge, a debt collection agency, which is likely trying to get in touch with my ex-wife, given that I've recently received correspondence for her from another agency.

Curiosity piqued, I played the message only to hear an all too rude insult-“b**ch.” Decided to do a 1471 to trace the call, and it showed the number 02088142299. Planning to get in touch with my phone provider first thing tomorrow. If it turns out I’ve been scammed out of any money, I won’t hesitate to head straight to the police and insist that my provider gets my money back.
