I find it rather puzzling as to why this number is trying to get in touch with me.

I received a call from a lady with a distinct British accent who said she was looking to extend our boiler maintenance warranty. She started asking for my payment details. I didn’t trust her one bit, so I decided to block her number!

02087737191 Rang my gran about some Worcester boiler cover she supposedly has. Problem is, we don’t even have a Worcester boiler, and the one we do have still has four years left on its warranty since we only just got it done. When I told the caller this, they got quite rude when I wasn’t exactly friendly back. Honestly, I’ll be cutting off any calls from these lot straight away. The TPS isn’t worth anything when it comes to stopping this nonsense.

My elderly aunt, who’s 90 but still quite sharp, got a call from this number insisting she provide her bank information. They rang her up not once, but twice, and became rather aggressive. Thankfully, she had the sense to just hang up on them!

I got a call from someone called ‘Jamie’ who said he was with Boiler Breakdown about renewing my Silver Cover for the gas boiler - it’s due in May and costs £143 a year. He even mentioned the last two digits of my sort code, which made him sound genuine. He came across as a polite, friendly young bloke with a proper UK accent. He said he’d give me another ring on Tuesday after the Bank Holiday. Seems legit enough, but I’m a bit wary now.

So, this guy rings me up, already knowing my name and where I live. He starts talking about boiler cover and says some paperwork for a service will be sent through the post. Then he tries to get my bank sort code, which made me hang up straight away. He called back just after but I didn’t pick up. Honestly, felt a bit creepy coz he even asked if I was over 60.

Got a call from some guy who already knew my name and where I lived. He said something about boiler cover running out and that paperwork would be sent through the post soon. Then he asked for my bank sort code, so I quickly ended the call. Strange thing is, he called me right back but I didn’t pick up. Bit creepy, especially when he asked if I was over 60.

Got a call from some bloke on 15th May at about 9:20 am. He was going on about boiler cover and wanted to know how old I was. When I told him I'm over 60, he said he'd knock the price down from £299 to £199. I asked what company he was with but all I got back was some mumbling. Next thing, he wanted my bank info. Pretty obvious it was a dodgy scam. He ended by telling me I wasn't covered as of today. Proper underhanded trick.

My wife got a call from a really nice woman about some boiler insurance. She even ended up giving her our bank sort code before realising it might be a scam. Dunno how they’d manage to take cash without the full security info, though.

If you want to put a halt to these rotten scammers, the best thing you can do is report every dodgy call you get. It’s really simple to do. Just search for ‘action fraud’ on Google, pick the ‘police.uk’ website, then find the ‘report’ page and fill out the form for 'phishing attempts'. You don’t even need to sign up or create an account. The problem is, lots of people don’t bother reporting these calls, so the police don’t have a clear picture of how many scams are happening or what types they are. Let’s all do our bit and report whenever we can!

Someone called Mathew from 02087737191 ended up charging me £199.99 from my account. Luckily, my bank managed to reverse the transaction after I asked them. About a month later, the same number rang me asking for my bank info again because they couldn’t withdraw anything else, then got quite hostile when I refused.

Some bloke rang me asking for someone I don’t go by anymore, so I told him to jog on. Then he had the cheek to ring back, so I just told him to bugger off. After that, he called again and started whistling down the phone - that’s when my husband lost it and shouted at him. That was the last straw! Honestly, it’s clear they’re aiming at older folks like me (I’m 70), so please keep reporting this number till they get put to a stop.

Got a call from someone saying they were from boiler breakdown cover, asking my elderly mum for her bank info to renew the policy. The caller wouldn’t give their full name, just said “Lauren.” I rang back to check and they tried to brush me off, saying they don’t ask for money. Totally obvious they were up to no good.

I got a call from a bloke on my nana’s phone, she’s 86 so it’s not really her doing. I asked him to stop ringing but he was quite cheeky about it, saying he’d only called the once. He kept cutting me off whenever I tried to speak. After I ended the call, he kept blowing up the phone, calling another five times even though I kept hanging up on him. Proper annoying stuff.

Got a call from 02087737191, a bloke speaking with an English accent wanting to chat with my elderly mum. He mentioned something about renewing her gas boiler cover and asked for her bank details to send the forms through the post. I didn’t feel right giving out that info, so I ended the call. He rang again shortly after, but I just hung up straight away.

On Wednesday 20th November at about 11:40, a person rang asking for me by name and said it was about my boiler insurance. I handed the call to my partner who usually sorts that stuff out. The caller asked his age and tried to say he could get a cheaper warranty. Then he asked for our sort code and bank details! When we refused, he just hung up. But less than a minute later, the phone rang again from someone claiming to be the accounts department, asking for the same info. We said no again. They sounded quite believable, but definitely felt dodgy.

Got a call from a woman with an English accent, telling me our boiler maintenance needed renewing. She sounded quite legit and said it was due soon. But I know we usually handle this stuff directly, and our next check wasn't due until much later in 2020, so I got a bit wary. I asked for her phone number to ring back, and she gave me the name Emily along with 0208 773 7191. However, the call actually came from 01785 917786. She then asked for our bank details, which really set off alarm bells because it’s so easy for people to get scammed like this. Be careful if you get calls like that!

Got a call supposedly about renewing my boiler insurance. The bloke asked for my bank details, which I obviously didn't give him. Instead, I fed him rubbish info and chatted rubbish with him for about fifteen minutes just to waste his time.

This number popped up with just one ring, and now I'm wondering if it's one of those dodgy scams trying to trick you into calling back some pricey line. I've looked all over but can't seem to figure out who it belongs to.

My elderly mother-in-law, who is 86 and suffers from dementia, was contacted by this number claiming to be from Boiler Breakdown UK. They informed her they'd called the previous day to arrange a visit for a boiler service the very next day. Fortunately, I happened to overhear her discussion and intervened. When I spoke with the caller, they mentioned it would cost approximately £265 for servicing and maintaining her boiler, a sum she might have willingly parted with. Curiously, I inquired how they obtained her phone number, and they asserted it was due to her boiler guarantee being expired. However, I pointed out that the boiler is over two decades old and this was the first time they'd ever reached out to her. It all seemed rather suspect - either a cold-call tactic aimed at vulnerable individuals like her, or something more sinister to gain entry into their home. I could find no credible information about this company whatsoever. - Caller: Boiler Breakdown UK

My wife's been seeing an elderly lady who mentioned getting a call today about renewing her boiler insurance. She felt really uneasy about handing over her info, but the caller said without it, her cover would stop. The phone number was 0208 1137 191 and she had a card from Boiler Breakdown Limited with the number 0333 577 3386 on it. Makes me wonder if she got conned by them last year too.

Got a call from this number about getting boiler cover, but when I said I already have it for 5 years, they told me to double-check and said they'd call me back. I rang Worcester Boilers themselves and they had no clue about these guys. Seems like a dodgy scam, they claimed to be partnered with Worcester which is definitely not true. Watch out! 02087737191

Just got a call at 16:31 from the 150419 number. A lady was asking to talk to my missus about some boiler cover thing, which we definitely don't have. When I questioned her, she just hung up straight away. Pretty clear it was a dodgy call. Out of curiosity, I phoned the number back and it had loads of options like you’d expect from a real firm, so it seemed legit at first. But I’m sure she knew we wouldn’t fall for it and ended things quickly. Total scam, in my opinion.

Some young lady called me about boiler insurance, said she was with a UK firm. I thought the TPS was meant to block these calls but apparently it doesn't do much anymore. I told her I already pay for boiler cover, and she just ended the call straight away. Feels like the TPS doesn’t actually work nowadays.

Got a call about some boiler repair insurance. They started off asking my mum’s age to offer a ‘better price’, then quickly moved on to ask for bank info. Proper pushy bloke, kept insisting that if we didn’t hand over our details, mum’s warranty would be voided. Definitely doesn’t seem right, so watch out for these sorts of calls!

My mother in law got a call from this number, they said it was some kind of deal organised by her late husband. But it actually connected to a firm that fixes boilers. Got a call from them and after some thinking I signed up for their cover. Wasn't sure at the start, a bit unsure if it was legit. Then they sent me all the documents, so I felt a bit better about it. When my boiler packed up, I gave them a ring, and they sent an engineer round the very same day. Needed a part replaced but didn’t have to pay anything as it was all included in the plan. Really pleased with how they handled everything.
