I’ve had yet another call from one of those 'car warranty' firms, this time claiming to be Warranty Direct, though I’ve never heard of them before. They keep asking for different versions of the names Mr or Mrs McArthur, Macarthy, Stewart... It’s all very odd. I've begun to think these are just made-up names to bamboozle unsuspecting folk. I've been screening calls like mad, given that I seem to receive over 500 calls from these dodgy numbers. It's getting quite tiresome, to be honest!

Loads of calls from different "car warranty" firms keep poppin' up on my phone, saying they're getting back to me but using weird names. Today it was this one called Warranty Direct, but before that, another one called Warranty Wise - both askin' if I'm Mr or Mrs McArthur, Macarthy, or Stewart or somethin' close like that. I've never dealt with either company or those names before, and I usually ignore any calls I don't recognise 'cos I've had well over 500 dodgy ones. These messages always come through my answerphone. Caller was Warranty Direct this time.
