got a call from a cheerful woman, maybe in her forties, claiming to be from some kind of appliances insurance. she said my washing machine cover was about to expire. which can't be right, as my paperwork shows the expiry is months away. when i told her i'd double-check my documents, she just ended the call straight away. bit suspicious if you ask me.

I got a call from a young lady called Katie saying my washing machine warranty was up for renewal. I told her I never even signed up for any cover. She refused to give me any number to ring back. Very dodgy if you ask me.

This bloke rang me, saying the cover on me washing machine was about to run out. I was nearly caught out and gave him me email, then he asked for me mobile number and card expiry date, which I gave him. When I asked about paying each month, he just hung up on me.

So I got a call from a really young woman, which was a bit surprising, and she already knew my last name. She told me my washing machine warranty was up and they wanted to renew it for me (how thoughtful, right?). But when I mentioned that my machine was over a decade old and I didn’t see how I could still have a warranty, she just hung up on me straight away.
