I received a rather unsettling call today. When I picked up, a robotic voice began rattling off a rather menacing message, claiming to be from HMRC. They stated that an arrest warrant had been issued in my name due to alleged tax evasion, and then they proceeded to outline steps I should take to avoid the situation. Out of curiosity, I attempted to follow along, but the call suddenly ended. Honestly, despite being employed and on PAYE, which means I've got nothing to fret about, it did give me a bit of a fright. This was the first time this number has attempted to reach me.
