I suspect they’re masquerading as the police. I’m planning to ring up Bromley CID to report it.

They purport to represent the intelligence and gang unit at Bromley Police Station, part of the Metropolitan Police. I received a voicemail prompting me to return the call to this number. The next day, when I rang up, the Detective Sergeant I was meant to speak with was apparently at a funeral and wouldn’t be returning for another five days. So, I ended up conversing with a Detective Constable who assured me he would reach out. Soon after, I got another voicemail mentioning he'd be out of the office but expected to return around 3pm. I attempted to call five times without any luck. The next morning, a woman informed me that he had gone on personal leave due to his grandmother being unwell. It didn’t strike me as particularly professional when she added that he won’t be back until Monday either. I mean, what on earth???
