12 yearsI've received multiple calls from this number; some rang just once and then hung up, but the most recent one at 10:25 on 19th December 2014 was particularly alarming. A woman with an accent typical of India claimed there was an issue with my computer. It’s clearly a scam! Let's be honest, Microsoft or any legitimate service provider would never reach out to you like that unless you initiated the contact. The number begins with 0208, hinting it's a London area code, but I strongly suspect it's routed from abroad. I'm astonished they still dangle this bait - but I suppose if they catch just a few unsuspecting souls, they hit the jackpot! Remember, sharing your personal information with these crooks could lead to a serious breach of your privacy and a potential risk to your banking details! Whatever you do, DO NOT divulge any information! They are nothing short of criminals!IndiaMicrosoftLondon12 yearsI've had quite enough of this number bothering me! Every time I try to return the call, I prefix it with 141 to conceal my number, yet I keep getting a message saying it’s unreachable. Quite frustrating, really!12 yearsI picked up the phone to a call, but once I answered, there was nothing but silence on the other end, and then the line went completely dead. I attempted to return the call using the 1471 service, yet I found that the number was unreachable. This sort of thing has happened quite a few times now, and it undeniably feels like some sort of scam. I’m also on the TPS list, so it baffles me how I still keep receiving these bothersome calls. Honestly, it’s becoming quite tiresome!TPS12 yearsI received a call claiming there was an issue with my computer. Just a load of dodgy scammers from India, if you ask me!India12 yearsI’ve just received one of those calls and managed to rid myself of them. It’s quite astounding how they can cloak themselves behind an obscure London number, and it seems BT isn’t bothered in the slightest.LondonBT12 yearsI picked up the phone when this number rang, and a woman with a noticeable Indian accent went on about some supposed issue with my computer. Having encountered this kind of scam previously, I quickly ended the call without further ado. It seems they’re at it again! Avoid engaging with them, as their only aim is to pilfer your personal information-purely despicable behaviour! The 020 code hints they might be based in London, not that it makes any difference.London12 yearsReceived a call this morning. You know the routine - “Are you the one responsible for the account?” I inquired who they wanted to speak with, and surprisingly enough, they mentioned my name. When I pressed for the source of my number, they claimed it was from their database. I was just about to mention that I’m ex-directory and also signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, but before I could finish, they started apologising profusely and abruptly disconnected. It’s interesting to note that with any marketing calls, the moment I mention my ex-directory status, they seem to vanish instantly. I reckon it’s probably against the law to contact someone who’s ex-directory, and it’s apparent they’re all well aware of this loophole, as they hang up just like that. Hope this insight proves useful!Telephone Preference Service12 yearsI didn't recognise the number, so I decided to let it ring and go to voicemail. When I listened back, it was all just background noise from what sounded like a call centre, along with some odd breathing on the line. Strangely enough, there was no one actually speaking, and then it just cut off abruptly. Quite peculiar, really!12 yearsComplete scam! They attempted to gain entry to my computer system.12 yearsI answered, yet there was complete silence, and then they just disconnected.12 yearsI received a call from someone asking for Mrs and then a name that was simply our late partner's initials. I'm quite curious about the sort of database these individuals rely on!Submit Your Own Report (020 8707 4945)
