I received a call on my mobile while I was in Belgium, and the caller introduced themselves and requested some sort of verification. Before I could even gather my thoughts, they abruptly ended the call. It was quite unexpected given it was a Sunday morning, and I was taken off guard.

I got a call from some firm named "SkyBand" over here in the UK. They claimed I’d clicked one of their online banners, which is supposedly how they got my info. They seem to be focused on ex-pats, pushing some kind of investment or financial advice. The bloke on the phone sounded like your typical call centre person, but honestly, I’d be wary and avoid getting involved.

I received a rather unpleasant call from an investment company based in London, and their manner was shockingly impolite. Just a heads up, I’m situated in Dubai!

I received a call on my mobile from a number in the UAE, but I chose not to pick up. Shortly after, the same number rang my office’s reception, leaving me little option but to respond. The caller ID was the same for both my mobile and office landline. He introduced himself as 'Muhammed' in quite a peculiar manner, though I suspect he’s using that name due to the local culture. He claimed to be calling about a parcel shipped to me from abroad, but the delivery address he provided for my workplace was all wrong-he did manage to get my company’s name right, though. When I questioned him about why he was ringing from a UK number if he was supposedly working for UPS in the UAE, he offered up a UAE number for UPS support. I did a quick search, and, to my surprise, it turned out to be genuine. However, upon contacting UPS directly, they advised me to request a reference number if he happens to ring again. My gut tells me he’s trying to piece together information about me, so right now, I’m leaning heavily towards believing it’s a scam.

Got five calls all ringing till the last second before I finally picked up. This bloke "Jonathan" then asked if I was who he thought I was - when I didn’t confirm, he just went quiet. Cheers to spotting another dodgy investment scam!

I got a call too from a wealth management firm, with a guy called "Alexander" wanting to chat about property investments, pensions, and other financial stuff aimed at British expats. Looks like they’re finding people via LinkedIn and then running web scrapers to grab phone numbers from different sites. From what I’ve seen, it’s not a scam or anything - they were polite and stopped when I said no. Still annoying though, especially since my mobile number isn’t anywhere public, so they must be purchasing data from some dodgy sources.

I received a rather peculiar call all the way from Egypt, where they addressed me by my first name. The caller claimed to be from "Financial Planning" and was eager to arrange a meeting with a chap named "Charlie." It all strikes me as quite fishy, to say the least!

I've received a number of calls from this lot recently. Apparently, there’s someone they’re calling Charlie who has a little helper scurrying about to gather appointments. Honestly, it feels a tad dodgy, if you ask me. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be some sort of investment con. Honestly, if these opportunities really were as brilliant as they claim, they’d probably just dip into their own pockets, wouldn’t they?

Received a call on my mobile while I was in the UAE. The bloke on the other end seemed to know my first name, which was a bit unsettling. He claimed the connection was dodgy, yet I could hear him perfectly well-odd, isn’t it? He was definitely fishing for my curiosity, hoping I’d be intrigued enough to ring him back. Could he be attempting to glean personal information during the call? It’s a wild thought, but one can’t help but wonder if he’s got some sneaky intentions, haha! Just indulging in a bit of conjecture like a proper sleuth.

Got a call on my UAE mobile about some expat pension advice and a "financial health check." Bit strange because I've never shared my number publicly or on LinkedIn as they said. Still, they knew my name which made me quite suspicious. I told them not to call me again since it's creepy how they found out both my number and name without them being listed anywhere.

I keep getting calls from what looks like the same outfit but they ring from different numbers every time. They say they’re financial advisors dealing with expat pensions. It’s all a bit dodgy because they say they got my number off LinkedIn, yet I don't have my phone listed anywhere on there. When I asked them what details they actually have on me, they just went quiet. Doesn’t seem legit, feels like it could be a scam. I’ve also had bother from another firm like this, so I’ve blocked 02038857118 and 02036701474.

I got a missed call from this number but have no plans to ring them back. When I looked it up, it came up as Guardian Wealth Management or something like that, so likely just a sales call trying to get you to put money in some investment that benefits them with a cut.
