I've got a call like that once too. Honestly, best to just ignore them completely. If you do answer, don't share any personal info, it's not worth the risk.

Some bloke called "Jason" claiming to be from BT's Indian call centre rang me up about my internet. He was going on about how my router was being used by trackers or something. I told him to jog on and ended the call - pretty sure I’m not even a BT customer!

This number keeps ringing my home phone but whenever I pick up, it's silent and they never say anything or leave a voicemail.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be from Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my internet. They asked what devices I had plugged in and told me to check my laptop for a control key near the fn key. When I asked why, the caller suddenly got furious, shouting something about being my husband and cursing at me about last night. It quickly turned threatening, with him saying he’d come round and do terrible things to me. Really scary and unpleasant experience.
