I can firmly say that this call originated from a call centre! It was quite noisy on their end. The woman on the line claimed to be a technician from BT, discussing my internet speed and router issues. The thing is, I’m not even on the BT network, so it seems to me like it was likely an attempt at scamming me.

It's obvious that this call was coming from a busy call centre, as there was a lot of background noise with other conversations occurring simultaneously. The lady on the line claimed to be from BT and mentioned something about my internet speeds being inconsistent. She assured me she would assist in resolving the issue but failed to introduce herself. Her accent had a distinct Indian inflection. I could tell right away that this was yet another scam call - I've had my fair share of them before. The typical strategy involves directing you to access your computer’s management settings and then confusing you with a load of unnecessary steps, all leading up to them asking for sensitive information like passwords and bank details.
