So I got a call from someone claiming to be with British Gas, saying they needed to help with my mum’s electric meter replacement. They chatted for ages and somehow got my mum to give her date of birth. Then after a bit more talking, they asked for her sort code, which she gave. Finally, they tried to get her account number but thankfully she refused and ended the call. Honestly, they sounded super convincing and it was quite worrying.

Got a call on our home phone at about 9 in the morning from someone with an accent, maybe Asian, saying something about the boilers. Told em we don’t have any boilers here! Felt like a scam straight away, so just said I wasn’t interested and ended the call.
