I got a call the other day about my washing machine warranty being up. Thing is, our washer is so old, its warranty expired ages ago! It’s mad that these scammers still get away with this rubbish, you'd think authorities would have stopped them by now!

Got a call trying to get me to renew a warranty on a washing machine for a place I left ages ago. The guy just rattled off a load of brand names, clearly clueless about which one was actually mine. When I asked who he was, the line suddenly cut out. Proper fishy behaviour if you ask me.
