Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying my BT costs were gonna go down on my next invoice. I wasn’t up for chatting, then suddenly the call just cut off.

I said hello a couple of times before someone picked up. The voice sounded Asian. The person asked if I was Mr Christopher Robin. I replied, "Sorry, what?" then he asked once more. I told him that’s a character from a book, and then he just hung up.

Got a call on my work phone from someone claiming to be from BT. They wanted to speak to Mr Williams - bit vague since we’re a massive company, could be anyone really. The caller said our line rental would be £24.99 for the coming quarter, saying we’re a “valued customer” (I’m sure the CEO would be thrilled at that news!). Just as I was about to get more info, the person just ended the call abruptly. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Got a call from this number earlier today. The guy on the phone, sounded like an Asian bloke, kept asking if I was Mrs Ellis. Bit strange since I'm a man and don’t reckon I sound like a woman at all. I just told him there’s nobody named Ellis here and then ended the call. Looks like a typical scammer to me - these lot really need to be stopped and proper cracked down on.

This number has rung me loads of times, so today I finally answered to have a word with whoever it was. But there was nothing - just silence for a bit, then an automated voice said “goodbye.” I tried calling back to tell them to buzz off, but it said the number isn’t valid! Someone rang our charity claiming they were from BT, saying from next month our bills would be cheaper. When I told them we don’t have BT, they just brushed it off like it didn’t matter. They kept asking for a person we’ve never heard of, mentioning it was a special pensioner discount. After a few awkward pauses and me getting fed up, I made it clear they were calling a charity, not a private person. Then they suddenly said goodbye and ended the call. Total scam, really hope this number gets banned before vulnerable older folks get caught out by these dodgy calls.

Got a call from some bloke named John claiming he could slash phone bills for pensioners - yeah right! When he asked for my date of birth, I told him I’m actually an MI5 agent and couldn’t share any personal details. Just keep them chatting and waste their time, it’s the only way to get a bit of payback on these total muppets. Proper scumbags, the lot of them!

Got a call from some scammer working in a noisy call centre, claiming to be from BT and telling me about discounts on my bill. After a long spiel, he started asking if I pay by direct debit and even my date of birth. Then he said he needed to put me on hold to speak to his supervisor. I just hung up and looked up his number on Google. Not long after, he called me again, so I ended the call straight away.

I got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, saying I could get a £35 refund if I was between 55 and 90 years old - no luck if you’re over 90 though! He wanted my date of birth, but I asked for his name first, and he said “Jason”. I told him to post the information instead and ended the call. I don’t even have a BT account, so I’m careful about giving out personal info on the phone. Pretty sure this bloke’s rung me up before, and even when I’ve said I’m not with BT, he keeps trying the same trick.

They used to call quite a bit, but I’ve blocked the number now so it’s stopped. It was annoying since they’d ring pretty early morning, which was stressful because we look after an elderly family member who’s not well. Honestly, I’m surprised anyone actually gets caught out by these scams!

So out of the blue, this bloke with a strong Indian accent, claiming his name was “John”, phoned me saying he worked for BT. He told me that since I supposedly didn’t use my phone much, my charges would be lowered. Thing is, I don’t even have BT as my provider, and I told him straight up. He seemed alright with that, saying BT was the actual company behind the offer. Then he mentioned something about a free service for pensioners, but I told him I’m not on a pension. After a bit of awkward silence, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, said he was with BT. He told me my internet was about to be disconnected 'cause someone was trying to hack into it. Similar to what others have said, I got a call from an Asian guy saying he was with BT. I asked him to confirm by giving me my account number. He acted all surprised and asked, "You don’t know your own account number?" I told him I did, but if he really worked for BT, it would be on his computer screen. On 8th Feb 2019 I got a call and the person on the other end didn’t sound like a native English speaker. There was this weird echo, like he was in a massive office or something. I got a call from a man who sounded Indian or Asian and kept messing up the pronunciation of my last name. He claimed he was calling from BT and said I'd be getting a discount on my phone bill plus free calls from next week.
