Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying my BT costs were gonna go down on my next invoice. I wasn’t up for chatting, then suddenly the call just cut off.

I said hello a couple of times before someone picked up. The voice sounded Asian. The person asked if I was Mr Christopher Robin. I replied, "Sorry, what?" then he asked once more. I told him that’s a character from a book, and then he just hung up.

I spoke but no one picked up, then a recorded message just said "goodbye" and ended the call. Seems like a scam for sure, even though the number appeared to be local.

Got a call on my work phone from someone claiming to be from BT. They wanted to speak to Mr Williams - bit vague since we’re a massive company, could be anyone really. The caller said our line rental would be £24.99 for the coming quarter, saying we’re a “valued customer” (I’m sure the CEO would be thrilled at that news!). Just as I was about to get more info, the person just ended the call abruptly. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

I just caught a strange sound in the background. If they ring me once more, I'm definitely going to inform the authorities. It's nothing but a pack of bothersome numpties!

I kept saying hello a couple times but heard nothing back. After a bit, a recorded message said "goodbye" and then the phone just hung up. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number earlier today. The guy on the phone, sounded like an Asian bloke, kept asking if I was Mrs Ellis. Bit strange since I'm a man and don’t reckon I sound like a woman at all. I just told him there’s nobody named Ellis here and then ended the call. Looks like a typical scammer to me - these lot really need to be stopped and proper cracked down on.

I've had numerous calls from this number, and today I finally decided to answer it to let them know exactly how I feel! To my surprise, there was utter silence on the other end, followed by a robotic voice saying, "goodbye," before they hung up. I attempted to call the number back to tell them to shove off, but it turns out, the number isn't even valid! I've since blocked it. It's clear they're not genuine - I'd suggest you either block or just ignore them!

Someone rang our charity claiming they were from BT, saying from next month our bills would be cheaper. When I told them we don’t have BT, they just brushed it off like it didn’t matter. They kept asking for a person we’ve never heard of, mentioning it was a special pensioner discount. After a few awkward pauses and me getting fed up, I made it clear they were calling a charity, not a private person. Then they suddenly said goodbye and ended the call. Total scam, really hope this number gets banned before vulnerable older folks get caught out by these dodgy calls.

Got a call from some bloke named John claiming he could slash phone bills for pensioners - yeah right! When he asked for my date of birth, I told him I’m actually an MI5 agent and couldn’t share any personal details. Just keep them chatting and waste their time, it’s the only way to get a bit of payback on these total muppets. Proper scumbags, the lot of them!

Got a call from some scammer working in a noisy call centre, claiming to be from BT and telling me about discounts on my bill. After a long spiel, he started asking if I pay by direct debit and even my date of birth. Then he said he needed to put me on hold to speak to his supervisor. I just hung up and looked up his number on Google. Not long after, he called me again, so I ended the call straight away.

I received a rather peculiar phone call from an Asian gentleman claiming to represent BT. He informed me that I was eligible for a £35 refund, specifically for individuals between the ages of 55 and 90-quite the oversight for anyone aged 91 or beyond! When he requested my date of birth, I inquired about his name, to which he responded with "Jason." At that point, I decided it best to request that he send the information via post and promptly ended the conversation. To clarify, I do not have any affiliation with BT and refuse to divulge any personal information over the phone. I have a sneaky suspicion that this chap has reached out to me previously; even after I clarified that I'm not a BT customer, he still seems intent on pursuing this line of questioning!

I received a call earlier from a gentleman named David, who claimed to be representing the fraud department for Visa and MasterCard. He informed me that a sum of £550 had been withdrawn from my bank account during the night. He mentioned that the payment had been reversed, but he required me to confirm my account information. Naturally, I hung up straight away; it sounded rather dodgy to me.

They used to call quite a bit, but I’ve blocked the number now so it’s stopped. It was annoying since they’d ring pretty early morning, which was stressful because we look after an elderly family member who’s not well. Honestly, I’m surprised anyone actually gets caught out by these scams!

So out of the blue, this bloke with a strong Indian accent, claiming his name was “John”, phoned me saying he worked for BT. He told me that since I supposedly didn’t use my phone much, my charges would be lowered. Thing is, I don’t even have BT as my provider, and I told him straight up. He seemed alright with that, saying BT was the actual company behind the offer. Then he mentioned something about a free service for pensioners, but I told him I’m not on a pension. After a bit of awkward silence, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be BT, saying there was something about my call charges. Pretty clear he had my info from the BT directory or something. I told him I’m not with BT and then ended the call. Now I’m just waiting to see if they ring back, probably trying to figure out who my actual provider is.

I was told that I could receive a 35% discount, but they needed to verify my banking details to 'adjust' my direct debit. They claimed to be BT, but I have my doubts about that. This is a new experience for me, to say the least!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, said he was with BT. He told me my internet was about to be disconnected 'cause someone was trying to hack into it. Then he asked if that hacker could be me! When I questioned him, he got quite rude, so I hung up. He rang back almost straight away laughing, so I ended the call and blocked the number. It's obvious they were trying to scam me.

I recently had a rather suspicious call from a chap who claimed he was representing BT, evidently of Asian descent. I politely challenged him to verify his identity by asking for my account number. In response, he incredulously suggested I didn’t know it. I assured him I did, and if he was indeed with BT, he'd have the details right in front of him on his system. After a lengthy back-and-forth about my insistence on his account number, he eventually cut the line. Quite the entertaining exchange, really!

I reckon it's a scam! A chap with a foreign accent claimed he was calling from BT. He seemed all chummy about offering discounts to the elderly resident, but then cheekily asked for their sort code and account number. Sounds a bit dodgy to me-likely trying to clean out your bank account!

On 8th Feb 2019 I got a call and the person on the other end didn’t sound like a native English speaker. There was this weird echo, like he was in a massive office or something. He asked if Mr 20xxx was around. I said, ‘Who’s that?’ Then told him ‘No, you’ve got the wrong number, mate.’ Ended the call pretty quick before he could say anything else.

I got a call from a man who sounded Indian or Asian and kept messing up the pronunciation of my last name. He claimed he was calling from BT and said I'd be getting a discount on my phone bill plus free calls from next week. His voice was quite low, which made it hard to hear, and there was a lot of background noise like an office. I told him I didn’t actually have a BT account, but he insisted, "Your line’s with BT, isn’t it?" I said I suppose so, and then the call suddenly went dead and silent. I just ended the call after that.

I received a rather suspicious phone call earlier today from a chap who had an accent reminiscent of Indian or Asian descent. He claimed to represent BT, informing me that starting next week I would be enjoying some discounts and complimentary calls. To be honest, the line wasn't great and he was rather difficult to hear, plus there was a noticeable hum of chatter in the background which made it all the more dubious. When I mentioned that I didn't actually hold a BT account, he cheekily replied, "But your line is with BT, isn’t it?" I hesitated, admitting that I suppose that's the case, and just like that, the call went eerily quiet. Sensing something fishy, I decided it was best to hang up.
