This evening, I had a call from this number, and I was almost conned out of close to £10,000. The person said they were from the fraud department at M&S Bank.

This number seems dodgy and has scam written all over it. Better to steer clear!

This number phoned me pretending to be from my bank, claiming they were my credit card company. They spoke with a very clear English accent, which was a bit different. When they started asking for info about my other cards, I immediately got suspicious and decided not to share anything. As soon as I stopped cooperating, they quickly ended the call. Totally a scam - best steer clear!

Got a call from someone saying there was an arrest warrant for tax evasion. They wanted my name, but when I told them they should already have it if they were calling me, they just hung up. Total scam, I reckon.

Stay clear of this number, it’s a total rip-off. I was on my computer when suddenly a big warning popped up saying I had a Trojan virus and to ring 0208 638 8923. A man pretending to be from Microsoft picked up and told me my PC was infected and he could fix it. After getting into my system, he then asked for money for “helping” me. He also tried to get my bank info and other personal details.

Someone called me saying my computer had a Trojan virus. It had the Microsoft logo on the message, so I thought it was legit. Then he started pushing me to buy some firewall software, and that’s when I knew it was dodgy. But by then, he’d already got access to my computer. Now I’m just worried about what damage he might have done.

I rang up this number, fully aware it was a con. When I asked the fella what was displayed on my screen, I told him, “It’s indicating that you’re nothing but a fraud and a deceiver. Oh, and by the way, I’ve already notified Microsoft about your little scheme and passed the number on to the police.” I couldn't resist throwing in a cheeky remark about whether his parents would be chuffed to know he makes his living by robbing people. This chap is certainly savvy about his shady dealings, but I showed him no kindness. I’ve had my fill of this scamming rubbish!

My laptop suddenly showed a warning about my IP address being compromised, telling me to ring 020 8638 8923 to buy a 3 or 5 year protection plan. I nearly fell for it because they really sound like they understand computers! Don’t get tricked though. They even ring you back from a US number and give another 'technician' number that’s part of the same scam. That other phone number is 0800 048 5360, so watch out for that too.

I encountered a rather convincing alert that looked just like a genuine Windows Defender notification, advising me to call a certain number for assistance. Normally, I'm quite savvy about these things, but I must admit, I was nearly caught off guard.

I recently encountered a rather alarming situation on my computer; a disconcerting siren blared and a message appeared instructing me to refrain from switching off my device and to ring a certain number instead. In a panic, I hastily closed the window and immediately initiated a comprehensive scan of my system.

I stumbled upon this number on my PC and, try as I might, I couldn’t seem to get rid of it alongside my other notifications. After doing a bit of digging, it was clear as day that it’s a scam. Steer clear of this number if you can! Definitely up to some dodgy business with the computer!

A rather alarming pop-up appeared on my laptop, accompanied by a rather boisterous voice proclaiming that everything was blocked and there were Trojans infiltrating my device. It instructed me to ring a particular number to supposedly resolve the issue. Before I made the call, I took a moment to verify the number using another computer. Once I realised it was dubious, I promptly hung up, powered down my laptop, and then restarted it to scrutinise my security settings, which showed no signs of trouble whatsoever. I've reported this whole debacle and the phone number to Microsoft; I would strongly recommend that anyone else who has experienced this incident does the same.

We ended up giving that number a ring ourselves and quickly figured out it was a total con. They wanted us to fork out more cash than what we initially shelled out for the laptop!

Got a call from this number on my laptop, but honestly, I’d say just ignore it. Seems like one of those dodgy scams, really not worth trusting.

Regrettably, we experienced something similar. We reached out to them with the hope of resolving the issue, but it quickly turned sour. Once they began insisting on upfront payments, it dawned on us that we had fallen victim to a scam. We've taken the precaution of cancelling all our bank cards, just to be on the safe side.

I've just fallen victim to a scam involving this number, losing £180 in the process. I'm not particularly savvy when it comes to technology, but I got a pop-up on my computer coupled with a warning to ring Microsoft. In a moment of panic over the malfunctioning device, I dialled the number, only to discover that I’ve been conned out of £180, and they now have access to everything on my machine. It’s quite distressing!

I didn’t actually get a phone call, but this message just popped up on my laptop screen with a voice warning me not to use my device because it had been hacked. It told me to ring this number: 020 8638 8923. What a load of rubbish, whoever’s behind this really must be bored out of their minds.

I've come across several reports of a scam posing as Microsoft support. It's a ruse aimed at getting control of your computer. If you find yourself in this situation, simply reboot your machine and ensure your antivirus software is up to date. Whatever you do, steer clear of that phone number - don't give in! Keep your composure and don't give them the satisfaction of a call.

After encountering a 'security risk' scam on our computer, this number appeared as a suggestion. Allegedly, we were meant to call it to ‘unlock’ our device.
We decided against that!
Perhaps it’s worth investigating?
