Pretty sure this was an o2 scam. I didn't answer, but they left a voicemail by mistake. You could hear people chatting in the background with thick Indian accents mentioning o2. The sound was really rubbish as well.

Got a call saying it was O2 offering some kind of upgrade deal. When I looked up the number, it’s actually owned by this firm called Wavecrest. Their website suggests they used to work with Tesco Mobile or something like that. Their office is listed at Tower 42 on Old Broad Street in London, so it sounds legit enough.

I got a call on the 30th October from a number starting with 02. The person said I could get a 40% discount for being a loyal customer but wanted my personal info. I told them I wasn't interested since it's not my provider, and then they kept trying to find out who my network was. I just ended the call after that.

Then things got kind of funny - someone muffled the mic with their hand, and the phone got passed to another person who insisted they were from Carphone Warehouse, swearing this wasn’t a scam and that the call was being recorded! Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, but on my phone it showed up as Fxfor médecin or something weird like that. They said they could send a security code to my phone via text. Definitely don’t share that code with anyone! O2 never asks for that info. If you give it out, they can get into your account and steal your details. Watch out!
