Phone number ☎️ 02086387879 👆 is reported as a persistent scam call originating from individuals falsely claiming to be HMRC officers, often using the name Jennifer Brown and threatening legal action or arrest over supposed tax debts. The callers employ automated voices and aggressive tactics to intimidate recipients into divulging personal details or purchasing gift cards as payment. Many victims recognise the deception due to the use of the outdated 'Inland Revenue' name and a lack of official correspondence. Authorities advise against engaging or returning calls, as these are attempts at fraud. Recipients are encouraged to block the number and report incidents to official channels such as phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk or www.actionfraud.police.uk. The calls frequently cause distress, especially among the vulnerable, but no genuine legal action is associated with these messages.

I received a call earlier today, where the caller informed me that I would soon be receiving a £3000 cheque. However, there is a catch. They requested that I provide them with a £150 "Google Play Card" as a condition for receiving the cheque. A solicitor was supposedly on their way to collect the card from me within the next two hours. It is important to recognize this as a scam. The caller will likely contact me soon to verify the "Google Play Card" and obtain the code in order to use it for themselves. There is no need for a solicitor to visit later, as they already have the necessary information. It is crucial not to purchase any cards on their behalf or disclose any information from the card. Please be cautious and stay alert!

At about 11:22 in the morning on the 21st of December 2018, I got a call from the number 02086387879 which claimed to be the Inland Revenue and a ‘Jennifer Brown’ supposedly left a voicemail. The message warned if I didn’t ring back or hear from my solicitor, there’d be some legal troubles waiting. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying I owed loads of money to the tax office. Took me a few minutes but then I caught on it was a scam. I only gave him my name and nothing else since he kept pushing me for more details. Eventually, I told him I’d ring HMRC directly. He claimed he was from there and wanted to speak to my lawyer or something. I've since reported the whole thing to HMRC.

I received two missed calls and two voicemail messages, claiming that I owed money to HMRC. The messages warned me about the possibility of legal consequences and informed me that bailiffs had been informed and were en route to my location. Luckily, I am not naïve and took the initiative to conduct some research before responding to them, despite my knowledge of not owing anything to HMRC.

A robotic voice contacted me, claiming to be Jennifer Brown from Inland Revenue, and informed me that I must call back immediately or face legal consequences. Concerned about the situation, I dialed the given number and spoke with a person named Eric Matthews. He alleged that I owed over £4000 to HMRC and had a warrant issued for my arrest by 4 pm on the same day. However, when I tested how he would respond, he told me he couldn't accept payment from me. At this point, he inquired about my solicitor and stated that I would need one. Despite his claim that I would be apprehended, he mentioned the possibility of applying for bail. Realizing the deceitful nature of this interaction, I ended the call and verified the details with HMRC, who confirmed that it was indeed a scam. The experience was quite frightening.

I recently received a message claiming that I owe over £4000 for a few texts sent in 2012 and 2017. I found it quite laughable and doubted the legitimacy of the sender. I promptly informed them that I didn't believe their identity and threatened to involve the police. Surprisingly, the person responded by telling me to go ahead and call the police.

So apparently Officer Jennifer Brown from the tax office has been calling me 😂 Really looking forward to the "penalties" they say I'll face if I don't ring them back. What a joke!

I got a call from an automated voice warning me about some kind of penalties, which honestly would freak out anyone who might actually owe the tax office. I guess some people might easily be tricked by it. Just watch out though, no telling how much these calls could be charging you a minute, or even worse, they might try to scam your bank info from you.

Got a call on my phone about half an hour ago from someone claiming to be from the Inland Revenue. Big red flag there. That name hasn’t been in use for yonks, it’s HMRC now - Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. So if anyone says they're from the Inland Revenue, they’re almost certainly trying to scam you.

A person with an Asian accent requested an unusual amount of £4785. They urged my father to transfer the money promptly and informed him that they would provide the account details when he visited the bank.

Hearing this, my dad immediately contacted his accountant who informed us that he had already encountered similar incidents recently.

Let's keep in mind, everyone, that if the government needs to communicate with us, they usually send official letters to our address and not in a threatening manner.

Today, my wife received a missed call and a voicemail from a certain number. The voicemail was left by a lady named Jennifer Brown, who claimed to be from the Inland Revenue. She urgently requested my wife to call her back and warned against ignoring the message, mentioning that legal action would be taken if ignored. Upon hearing about this, I immediately suspected it to be a scam, as we hadn't received any correspondence from the Inland Revenue regarding any debts. After researching this on Google, it came as no surprise to discover that we were not the only ones targeted by this phone message. This malicious activity needs to be put to an end. Thank you, Derek

Beware of a fraudulent phone caller posing as HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs). They might weave a fabricated tale about an arrest warrant relating to allegations of tax evasion. It's important to note that this is a scam and not to be taken seriously. You can disregard any voicemails left by someone named "Jennifer Brown" threatening legal consequences. Understand that it's best not to call them back or engage in any communication with these criminals. Their intention is to scare vulnerable individuals into giving them money. Remember, their actions are illegal, and they should be reported immediately.
