Evening! Got the same message on Monday 21/01/2019, so i've decided to block that number now.

Somebody called me pretending to be from the tax office, but it was just a recorded message. I quickly sussed out it was fake and ended the call, but honestly, these idiots drive me absolutely mad. Can’t someone do something about these muppets once and for all? Feels like we need a proper hero, like Luther or the Equaliser, to sort this mess out. But seriously, this isn’t just a bit of fun - it's total nonsense. Surely the cops should be tracking these scammers down, busting them, and locking them away permanently. This kind of stuff has to be against the law, right?

To me, this just screams scam, but it’s really intimidating and could easily freak someone out into doing something rash! How on earth do these scammers manage to keep getting away with it?

Just like loads of others have said here, this was a total con. Definitely a scam.

Just like loads of others, I got one of those recorded calls from some scammer. It was all about threatening me with legal trouble if I don’t ring back HMRC or get my solicitor to do it. They kept saying stuff like “prepare to face the consequences” - total rubbish.

It’s quite disheartening to see how badly the trust and communication have crumbled between the government and its people, allowing scam artists to prey on folks’ hard earned money. What really puzzles me though is why the telecom providers and the government don’t step in to stop these dodgy calls from happening in the first place? I recieved one of these calls myself - a recorded message from a woman claiming to be an “inland revenue officer” named Jenifer something, with a very posh English accent. She sounded all proper but with an icy tone, telling me or my lawyer to ring her number right away or there would be serious consequences.

Got a call off someone sayin they was from the HMRC criminal investigations team, but it was a total scam. Watch out for these dodgy calls!
