The website mentioned I would receive a verification code, but lo and behold, I was instead greeted by a rather brusque gentleman on the phone, demanding I fork out £250 for registration. He claimed to be named Andrew, though his accent was anything but British. To add to my suspicions, the name of the company he provided didn’t match what I had found in my earlier research. Not to mention, the number appeared as flagged for spam on my phone. It was glaringly obvious he was trying to pull a fast one. I firmly told him I wouldn’t be using my card to make any payments and planned to do my due diligence first.
