This individual, who went by the name Lisa Miles, identified herself as being situated in Paris, yet she didn’t seem to have a grasp of the French language at all. Oddly enough, despite the London telephone number, her accent didn’t sound remotely British or French. To make matters worse, her command of English was rather shaky-she needed me to explain even the simplest terms, such as "no." She suggested I share my screen so I could supposedly verify my details to recover some long-lost funds that had been swindled from me years ago. I was rather sceptical. Sharing my screen with a possible fraudster didn’t strike me as the wisest decision, to be honest. When I asked her to provide verification of her affiliation with the FATF, she instructed me to send an email to her. An hour later, I received a message from a Gmail account that had numerous irrelevant documents supposedly linked to FATF, all of which I found easily accessible online. So, it became glaringly obvious that she wasn’t, in fact, legitimate. Surprise, surprise! It’s clear that I was approached by some sort of con artist, though I’m still not entirely certain of the details.
