Received a call but no one spoke on the other end.

My other half got a call from this number, said it was HMRC. I looked it up here and already blocked it. Proper irritating!

This morning, I received a call from this number, and they left an automated voicemail claiming to represent HMRC, warning me about a warrant for my arrest because of alleged tax evasion. Naturally, I was alarmed and decided to ring the number back, but as soon as it was answered, I hung up out of unease. Shortly after, I found myself inundated with 4 or 5 missed calls from 0300 2003311, which is listed as an official HMRC contact number-this really sent my heart racing. In a moment of panic, I dialled 0208 638 0944, and now I’m left wondering how much that call is going to cost me. On the line was someone calling himself Mark Watson, who claimed to be an HMRC officer, complete with an officer ID and reference number. He sternly instructed me not to interrupt while he read off the charges. He mentioned that letters had been sent to me, going so far as to confirm my address. When I pressed him about tracking numbers for those so-called documents, there was a noticeable pause in his replies. He kept repeating the same information, stating that reports had been filed with my local police and that they would arrest me within 72 hours. I’ve since checked with my employer, given that he insisted I was responsible for sorting out this alleged payment. Oddly enough, he didn’t even inquire about where I worked or ask for my National Insurance number, which I found rather suspicious. HMRC have since confirmed that this is indeed a scam. It makes me wonder what this person’s end game was-perhaps he thought I might agree to make a payment or set up some kind of payment plan on the spot.

Got a daft machine call pretending to be from HMRC, making all sorts of threats. Whoever programmed this thing clearly didn't think it through and might as well come from another world. I can see how some folks, especially those not used to these kinds of scam calls, could get really alarmed. Anyway, I've blocked the number and flagged it.

Somebody just called me, shouting that I’m lying and that the police are on their way to arrest me for some debt I don’t even have. Proper awful behaviour.

Got a really annoying call from this number, 020 8638 0944, pretending to be from HMRC. Definitely a scam, so watch out!

Had a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, totally a scam. I rang the police and they told me to report it to Action Fraud. Right after that, the same number called me back from 0300 200 3307. I’ve blocked both numbers now, just in case.

Today I got a call from 020 8638 0944, and it was exactly the same automated message that someone else mentioned before. I’m definitely going to report this number to Action Fraud.

Got a robo call saying HMRC's looking into us for dodgy tax stuff! They mentioned we'd be nicked for not sending the right forms. Ringed up police 101, and they said it's a scam doing the rounds. Told me to report that number to Action Fraud. Definitely do NOT ring the number they leave in the message. Blocked it straight away.
