02086347617 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02086347617 👆 is reported as a persistent scam targeting UK residents, with callers posing as Royal Mail employees claiming parcels are held due to unpaid postage fees, often around £1.55. Callers typically know the recipient’s name but provide no parcel details or verifiable information, pressuring for email addresses or bank details. The callers frequently use a foreign accent and avoid answering specific questions, sometimes instructing recipients to pay via suspicious links or phone payments. Genuine Royal Mail never requests payment this way nor calls to collect fees - official procedures involve physical red cards or digital notifications from verified sources. Users are advised not to share personal or financial information, to refuse suspicious requests, and to report such calls to the authorities.

I got a call from a polite lady with an Indian accent saying I had a parcel waiting at the local post office. She had my name but was oddly persistent about getting my email address. When I asked why, she said Royal Mail stopped leaving delivery cards through the letterbox, so to prove it was genuine, I needed to give her my email. I gave her a fake email, but she kept telling me to check all my email folders, including spam, so she could assist with the email. I told her I was about to join a meeting and would look into it afterwards.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Royal Mail saying I needed to pay £1.55 for a parcel that apparently had no postage. I asked her to tell me the address on the package but she said she couldn’t, because it was 'kept at their office.' I told her to hang on a sec, muted the call, put down my phone and looked up the number online. Found this website right away. She didn’t even hang up straight away, just waited about two minutes before ending the call.

Got a call from someone claiming there was a parcel from Amazon supposed to come via Royal Mail, but the postage hadn’t been covered, so they wanted me to pay up. The caller only had my name, so I told them I’d need to double-check if I was even due a package - normally, the seller would send a message if payment was missing - then I ended the call. When I asked questions, they kept saying stuff like "I don’t know" or "I don’t have that info" and just insisted it was for me. Such a pointless hassle, especially during work hours!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Royal Mail about an issue with a parcel. They said the postage didn’t match the weight and asked if I wanted instructions to sort it out. The parcel was supposedly from a London-based Amazon seller. I wasn’t convinced at all and told them this didn’t sound right, then ended the call.

Just like others have said, caller claimed to be from Royal Mail saying I owed £1.55 for postage on a parcel without a stamp. I asked her to tell me the address on the package but she said she couldn't because it was 'in their office'. I told her to hang on a sec, put the phone down and muted the call while I looked up the number online - came straight to this site. She only stuck around for about 2 minutes before ending the call.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be Royal Mail saying I owed £1.55 for postage on an unstamped package from Amazon. I was suspicious and mentioned Amazon doesn't usually send things through Royal Mail. She insisted if it’s coming from overseas, Amazon uses them. Then she wanted my email to send payment details. I checked with Amazon who confirmed my parcel would arrive with them tomorrow - so definitely a scam, watch out!

Got a call from someone pretending to be Royal Mail, saying I owed £1.55. I immediately suspected it was dodgy, so I told them I'd pop round to pay in person. They gave me an address: South London Mail Centre, 53 Nine Elms Lane, SW8 5BB. Thing is, that place was the old SL Mail Centre, which has been demolished ages ago. Pretty sure these scammers are hanging about, hoping folks rock up with cash.

I had the same thing happen. When I asked how she had my info, she told me "the parcel". I told her it makes no sense since a parcel wouldn't show my phone number. Then she just cut me off. She did have my old name tho, from before I updated it a couple years back.

Didn't pick up 'cause the number looked off and I thought it was dodgy, probably a scam.

Someone rang my mobile from this number saying they were from a royal mail depot in south london, saying they had a parcel for me and could help me collect it. The voice was of an indian woman, sounding like she was in customer support. I got suspicious when she couldn’t answer simple questions i asked nicely, and she cut off the call pretty quickly, under a minute i’d say. Checking this site confirmed my doubts about the call.

I got a call from 020 8634 7617 and a woman with a foreign accent was calling me by my maiden surname, even though I got married nearly two years ago. She mentioned there was a parcel for me without postage and asked if I wanted to find out how to claim it. It sounded fishy, so I just said ‘not really’. She then told me that Royal Mail used to leave cards at doors if postage wasn’t paid but apparently they don’t do that anymore. I told her I wasn’t going to share any info on the phone and she asked for my email so she could send payment instructions... I just hung up on her.

I got a phone call saying I had a delivery waiting with Royal Mail. But because I’d already got a dodgy email this week saying I needed to pay for a parcel, I got suspicious. The woman on the phone couldn’t tell me my postcode or why my phone number would be connected to the parcel. I told her I’d check with their head office before doing anything. So relieved I looked the number up online first!!!

Pretty sure this was a scam call. It’s a London area code too, so don’t get why the police can’t find the people behind it.

This number just rang me up pretending to be from Royal Mail, saying there was a parcel of mine missing postage. I told them I normally get a text or an email from Royal Mail about stuff like this. She then sent me a payment link by email for £1.55, but I told her I’d sort it out later since it didnt feel right at all.

Today at 1:08pm I got a ring from 020 8634 7617, and it gave me all the usual shady vibes straight away. Having served as a police officer, I could smell a scam miles off. Like many others mentioned, the woman on the line had a strong foreign accent, not sounding anything like she was from Royal Mail. Plus, the call took a moment to connect, which made me think she wasn’t even in the UK. I decided to humour her, aware it was a con, just to see what she'd say. When she claimed Royal Mail was holding a parcel and needed me to pay a small fee, then asked for my bank details to proceed, I laughed it off and told her, “Do you really think I’m that gullible? I’m not wasting my time on scams.” She immediately cut the call. Also, why on earth would Royal Mail be contacting me on a bank holiday Monday? These dodgy calls are far too common nowadays. I’ve reported it to Royal Mail as well. Keep your guard up, folks!

Got a call today from a woman with a strong foreign accent claiming to be from Royal Mail. She mentioned a parcel was waiting for me to pick up. She did know my name, but when I asked where the parcel came from, she couldn’t provide any specifics and said they needed more info from me. I told her I wasn’t expecting any deliveries and she must have mixed up the details. Definitely sounds like a scam - don’t share anything with them!

I just had a call from a woman who had a weird accent, asking me for my email to sort out payment for a Royal Mail package. She mentioned a depot that wasn’t even near me, and I never got one of those red cards through the door. She was pretty much threatening that the parcel would be trashed if I didn’t pay up. Honestly, don’t hand over any info to these people!

Somebody rang me up and said they were from Royal Mail with a parcel for me. They even knew my name! I told them I'd just pick it up at the local sorting office and then they suddenly ended the call. Don’t fall for their tricks, even if they seem to know stuff about you. Royal Mail won’t phone you asking for customs fees; they just drop a card through your door.

I got a call saying I owed customs fees for a Royal Mail parcel in my name. They asked me to pay over the phone. I told them I wouldn’t pay unless they sent an invoice by email first. Then I got an email that looked like it was from Royal Mail but it wasn’t, with a link to click. The sender’s email was definitely not from any Royal Mail domain. Watch out, folks! This seems like a scam!

I got a call from a woman claiming to be Melissa from Royal Mail, saying there was a parcel waiting for me because I hadn’t paid the postage. Her accent was really thick and foreign sounding. I didn’t bother with her story and after about a minute she just ended the call. Seems like that’s the sort of scam a lot of people are getting.

This company keeps ringing me up every day, leaving voicemails, but they use loads of different mobile numbers so I can't block them. I've never even shown the slightest bit of interest in what they offer, so I don’t see why they keep calling. Honestly, their approach feels more like harassment than genuine sales, and I’ve already reported them for it.
