Got a call saying it was HMRC, something about a letter being sent back and legal action soon. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to talk to an officer. When I did, I could just hear some silence for a bit before they just cut off. Pretty fishy if you ask me.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from BT Openreach, told me my internet was infected with some malware coming from their server. I said I doubted it, asked him to give me a phone number to ring back, and he gave 8435096391. Then I just ended the call and looked up the number that actually called me, which was 02086323090. Total scam!

Got a call from this number today. The person said they were from BT Openreach and started going on about our computer being hacked or something. My husband asked them to hold on a sec and said he’d ring back later. Next thing we know, he gets told to f### off! Proper rude.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be from Openreach, but it was another scam. The person was quite disrespectful, even said I must be ancient and clueless about tech if I wondered whether it was a con. Then they added something like, "Don’t worry, ma’am, you won’t have long to live!" It’s gone beyond just irritating now, it feels more like intimidation and verbal abuse.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from Openreach about my internet. This isn't the first time they've rung me from different numbers. Every time I've just said things like 'I don't have that service', 'I've never used it', or 'cheers for the info' and quickly ended the call. If they try again, I’m thinking of asking them to give me the 3rd letter or number and the 5th symbol from their 'BT fraud prevention software' password, or just put me through to their IT boss. I'll update if that happens...

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach, wanted to run a broadband speed test. Told him I wasn’t a BT customer and he suddenly got really hostile. He then started threatening me, saying he’d come round with a sharp knife - sounded proper scary. He even read out my full address, which made the threat feel pretty serious. I reported it to the police since this was clearly a dodgy scam. If you ever get a call like this, just ignore and hang up straight away!

I got a call from a chap claiming there was a problem with my internet, he told me I had to install some software so he could check the speed. I had my suspicions right away, especially since I'd heard of "team viewer" being used in scams before. When I challenged him about it, he started getting really rude and pushy. Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from BT. They told me my internet was having issues and might get disconnected soon.
