Today, I’ve had the pleasure of receiving a couple of calls from this number - once around 10 in the morning and then again around 4 in the afternoon. Both times, the friendly voices on the line claimed to be representatives of Carphone Warehouse. They expressed an unusual interest in my supposed desire to upgrade to a Galaxy S4, which seems rather premature considering my S3 only feels like it’s just joined the family! I don't distinctly remember signalling any enthusiasm about upgrading to the S4, though I do recall entering a competition on their site after receiving an email from them, which merely suggested I’d like to stay in the loop regarding their updates. At the moment, I’m quite content with my S1, which I’ve only had for a few months after inheriting it from a friend. It’s a far cry from my beloved Nokia 3110 Classic that met its sad end. With a hint of disappointment (though once upon a time I thought quite highly of CPW), I’ve now taken the step of blocking this number.

I've been getting loads of calls from this number lately.

It was Carphone Warehouse ringing me, and if you’d actually picked up the phone you’d know who it was and could have told them you weren’t interested in upgrading or getting any more calls. That’s all there is to it. I was due for an upgrade today and was planning to go through them again (I’d done it in their shop a couple of years back and found them a lot more helpful and professional than the O2 shop just down the road - plus they were cheaper!). So when they called me today, I’d already decided to upgrade with them in-store. Actually, I ended up doing it over the phone this time and I’ll pick up the phone at my chosen store tomorrow. Sorted. I could have gone straight to O2 but then I’d have to pay £19.99 upfront on top of a monthly cost of £32.50. Going through Carphone Warehouse means I pay £27.50 a month and no upfront cost. The only thing is I won’t be on O2 Refresh but that doesn’t bother me at all. So seriously, just answer the phone and let them know if you’re not interested in upgrading or anything else from them. It’s that simple :) Caller was Carphone Warehouse.

I'm in agreement with Leanne here. Over the festive period and ringing in the New Year, we were pestered by those two numbers, 01612168911 and 01925555601, and now this latest one has come along. We told them back on the 7th of January that we wouldn’t be upgrading our phone through CPW any time soon after they convinced us to upgrade 18 weeks ago, promising a £135 cheque. They also called me last night around 11pm and again super early this morning at 3:18. Turns out it’s an automated message from Carphone Warehouse about a 'non urgent call', and it said to press 1 if I wanted the calls to stop. I did press 1, but they rang back within 5 minutes. My contract ends next month, but honestly, I’m done with it - hardly ever use this phone anyway. Properly annoyed!

Got a call today from someone saying I’d won some kind of competition, but I never even entered one. Then they started saying I was eligible to get a free orange Samsung Galaxy Fame, which sounded dodgy. Had loads of calls today, 4 in total, and a couple yesterday evening. Picked up 4 out of the 6 but either got nothing - just silence - or the line went dead straight away. Apparently it’s some call centre for Carphone Warehouse. I have no contract or anything with them, so no idea why they’re bothering. It’s more annoying than anything because they don’t say a word when you answer, sometimes cutting off after just two rings. Proper nuisance, honestly. Just leave me alone, will you?

They've been ringing me nonstop for the past three days, probably about three calls each day. My contract with O2's about to end, might be them trying to pester me about an upgrade.
