Phone just went to voicemail on my landline, and usually scam calls hang up as soon as they hear it. But this one actually left a message after the beep, giving a 5-digit security code. That's usually what happens when you're doing 2-step verification and need a code sent to you, but they normally say it straight away, not after the beep, so it’s easy to miss. They didn’t say who they were or anything. The weirdest bit was the time - half past midnight.

It went directly to voicemail on a traditional phone and left a robotic voice saying a verification code consisting of five digits after the beep. I'm noticing these automated calls popping up more frequently, especially with two-factor authentication becoming the norm. Usually, they deliver the code right when the call connects, rather than after the voicemail kicks in. Not a huge issue, but I wasn't exactly thrilled to receive it at 12:10 in the morning!
