I'm behind on payments and received a call from them to verify my email address, which I provided. I’ve been inundated with voice messages on my work phone from this number. It's an automated system, so I only catch snippets of the message along with the phone number, which has deterred me from returning the call. After receiving ten messages over the span of ten days, I decided to look it up and found it listed here as a PayPal contact (though many others reckon it's a scam). To make matters clear, I do have a PayPal account, but I've only used it a couple of times in the last decade, and I certainly haven’t linked it to my work phone. In fact, my account is registered in a different country, and the only number they might have is an old inactive international mobile number, which makes it pretty obvious that this is a fraudulent call. I strongly advise against engaging with this number-just block it without hesitation!

I've got this CallBlocker app set up that does its job in preventing the calls from coming through, but I still receive notifications with every attempt. Utterly dodgy business! Whatever you do, don’t pick up that call or engage with them in any way!

I'd strongly advise keeping an eagle eye on your PayPal and bank statements to ensure they haven’t managed to breach your accounts!

Contacted our mum's residence as well. We've reported the private issue regarding PayPal to the authorities. It's our fervent hope that one day the company faces substantial legal repercussions and is forced to cease operations. I've been receiving calls intended for my husband, claiming they're from PayPal. The trouble is, my number isn’t even registered with them in relation to him! I've put a block on the number, but it seems that wasn't enough. They keep leaving daily voicemails, and I'm already up to 27 messages in a little over a fortnight. It's absolutely maddening - I can't seem to shake them off!

got proper pissed when i said i wanted £50 for my time, these lot called me before so i told him he had to pay up if he wanted me to answer any questions. he goes "you dont get it", and i said "i do, but i’m charging £50 before i even start". cheeky bugger just hung up on me. well, if youre gonna mess about, i’ll play back, cost them a few quid on calls lol

Received a call today from someone purporting to be from PayPal. I mentioned that I would call them back, then decided to reach out to PayPal directly via their official site. Turns out they had no knowledge of the call at all - it's undeniably a scam! I can't help but wonder if some of the folks commenting here insisting it's legitimate are actually in cahoots with the fraudsters.

I'm at my wits' end trying to figure out how to put an end to these maddening calls. Oddly enough, they never ring through-they go straight to my voicemail! The number isn’t on my blocked list, so there's no way for me to prevent them from getting through. I reached out to PayPal about it, and they seemed puzzled as well. They mentioned it's a curious case they're looking into, and apparently, I'm not the only one with this issue. Lots of folks have been in touch with them about the same problem!

This number has rang me a whopping 25 times! They’ve left some voicemails too. So, I finally picked up today, Tuesday the 29th of March, and some bloke on the other end asked for a Mr Renwick. Well, I’m definitely not him, and to top it off, my phone number is supposed to be private! The chap insisted I pass on a message to this Mr Renwick, whom I’ve never even heard of! Honestly, he wouldn't take no for an answer, and it’s really got my knickers in a twist! What a right nuisance!

I recently had a phone call from someone claiming to be from PayPal, urging me to ring them back. However, I’ve decided against it because I noticed something quite unsettling: my last two transactions through PayPal on my banking app are listed as direct debits that appear to be set up on a monthly and yearly basis. This raised a lot of questions for me, as I'm baffled by how PayPal could initiate one-off payments as direct debits, potentially affecting my account again in the future! I’ve gone ahead and cancelled both direct debits, just to be on the safe side.
