So I just got a call from this lady with a really strong foreign accent saying she was from TalkTalk. She asked if we shared a phone line and then warned us about hackers messing with our connection. She told me to check the router straight away. When I started questioning her, she suddenly just ended the call. Honestly, watch out for this kind of thing and just hang up!

Whenever I get calls claiming to be from TalkTalk’s tech support, I usually respond with something like, "You aren’t from TalkTalk at all, you lying thief trying to scam honest folks out of their hard-earned cash. You bring nothing but misery and deserve to be ashamed." Every now and then, I throw in, "You’re even worse than dog muck." Most times, the person on the other end ends up hanging up before I’m done!

Today, someone claimed they were calling from Talk Talk's tech support, though they couldn’t say exactly where that was. They went on about hackers messing with my router and threatened to disconnect my internet if I didn't activate it right away!

She wanted me to switch my computer on and log into some accounts for her. I played along for a bit, but after a while I lost interest and told her to shove off...

I got a call from someone saying they were with talktalk and that my router was at risk of being hacked. They somehow got access to my computer and then asked me to pay to sort out the problem. When I asked questions, they just hung up. Weirdly, they called again the following day trying the exact same scam.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was from BT, told me there was a problem with my internet. I told him I’m in Hull and only get internet from KCom, plus my number’s on the TPS list. That’s when he suddenly flipped out, started threatening to kill me, said he’d shoot me and called me his enemy, telling me to watch my back. I was shocked and quickly hung up! Really wanna find out which company he’s from and get him reported to the right people.

Told him I work in IT and know how to spot these things, then just ended the call. Seriously, don’t get caught out by these scams, they’re trying this nonsense all the time.

The call began with the guy making rude sounds that my disabled lad makes. When I questioned why he was doing that, he snapped back telling me to f### off with some awful language, shouting, and more weird noises before he just hung up on me.

Today I got a call from someone named Alex claiming he's with Virgin, but he definitely isn’t! This is like the ninth call supposedly from Virgin in just one week, all from different numbers - this one was the newest. I’ve spoken with Alex today, Sammy Anderson a couple of times, Christine, Peter twice, and a few others who never even gave their names. Most of the numbers came up as withheld. I’ve reported every single number to Virgin directly.

This number kept calling me loads so I finally picked up. A guy with a foreign accent said he was from Virgin Media's tech team and that our account had been hacked. He told me his name was Peter William and gave me a direct line number: 0203 239 1106. Virgin Media would never call like this!!!
