I received a rather peculiar call today from a lady sporting a noticeable foreign accent, who claimed to represent a company that provides tech support for computers. She inquired whether I was the primary user of my computer. When she mentioned she had some questions, I replied with a query of my own: why on earth had she interrupted my day with her unsolicited call? To my surprise, she promptly terminated the call. Clearly, it was an attempt to swindle unsuspecting individuals, and regrettably, there are those who may be duped by such tactics.

I recently had a troubling experience with Tech Helpline, which I can only describe as a complete con. Their tactic seems to involve disabling certain applications on your device or trying to gain control of your computer in a bid to make you reliant on them for support. This could end up costing you a pretty penny in the form of weekly, monthly, or even annual fees. It really irks me that such companies are allowed to operate, preying on those who might not be tech-savvy. It's absolutely appalling!

This number keeps ringing me, claiming there's an issue with my computer. I told them to clear off, but they've had the audacity to call me four times this evening!

I received a call earlier today from this number, supposedly representing a company whose name I couldn't quite catch. They claimed I had an issue with my computer, insisting I needed to log onto my system while they guided me through resolving the so-called problem (which, for the record, I don’t have at all). This appears to be the same old scam that circulated last year, where if you follow their guidance, they end up gaining access to your device. Thankfully, I’m wise to such tricks and won’t fall for it, but I do worry that others might have. I really wish I could decipher what they said their name was!
