Even though my number is supposed to be unlisted here in the Channel Islands, I noticed a call on my phone log from 00442085711665 at 9:53am on 28th November 2019. I've never heard of that number before. When I tried ringing it back, there was no answer at all.

Got a call from 02081448025, a guy with an Indian accent who somehow already knew my complete name. He was telling me the UK Government agreed to pay me back £3000 for bank fees or something like that. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he was sending over some sort of call blocker. He asked for my details like my name, address and phone number. I foolishly gave it to him but when he tried to get my debit card expiry date, I got the feeling something was off and just hung up. I think he tried ringing me again but I didn’t pick up. It was weird how much he seemed to already know about me!

Got a call from this number, a guy with an Indian accent on the line. He said he was with something like “You Benefit” and claimed my call blocking was just set up. He asked me to verify my name and phone number, which he somehow already knew. I didn’t give him any info back, just said I’m already using a call blocking service and don’t need one from him, especially if there’s a charge involved. He hung up pretty quickly after that!

Got a call from 02085711665 but didn’t answer ’cause I thought it might be a scam. Been getting calls every day for over two weeks now from loads of different numbers. When I pick up, it’s always silent, or sometimes I try dialing again but adding 114 at front and it says the number can’t be reached. This all started after I had some issues with my TalkTalk phone, and when I rang their support, the person I spoke to had a foreign accent. Proper annoying!

Got a call from a guy named Alistair who claimed he was ringing from You Benefit, asking me to respond to some questions. I told him I don’t do phone surveys and brought up the TPS, then suddenly the call just cut off. Straight onto the blocked list!

He kept asking loads of personal questions, so I just ended the call. Blocking doesn’t help at all since they always switch to a new number. Over the last few months, I’ve been getting calls quite often from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk. They keep saying my internet might get cut off soon. I never give them any personal stuff because it’s clear they’re trying to scam me. Even when I tell them I know they’re not genuine, they still keep ringing me up.

On 28th November 2019, about 3.20 pm, I got a call from an Asian bloke on my unlisted home phone. He started with "Hello Mr..., I'm Robin, how are you today?" I said, "I'm fine, cheers, although I'm a bit sceptical that your name's really Robin. Anyway, what's up?" He snapped back, "If you can't be polite, I won't chat," then just hung up on me. Fair enough. I've blocked his number since, though I doubt that'll stop these annoying calls. Funny thing is, I never found out what he actually wanted. Bit of a waste of time really.

Today, I received a phone call from 02085711665. The person claimed it was about UK benefits. I've had loads of calls from these lot before, always using different numbers. I've kept blocking them but they keep coming back with new numbers. I’m really fed up with these cold callers. I purposely block unknown numbers and ignore unknown calls to stop this kind of annoyance, but these idiots still find a way through. It’s such a hassle.
