Someone called claiming to be from HMRC and said I had an arrest warrant for not paying taxes. I rang back and some "Officer xxx" picked up. Usually I don’t get bothered by this stuff but it’s still pretty unsettling to get calls like that.

Got a dodgy call claiming I was in a car crash, total scam!

This number rang my home phone while I wasn't in, but they left a voicemail saying urgent documents were sent to me and returned unclaimed. They claimed a warrant's been issued for my arrest because I've supposedly ignored them. I lost count how many times this same number has called, pretending to be from Virgin, AOL, or tech support. It's getting seriously annoying now. These calls really need to be blocked - not sure how, but the phone providers NEED to take some serious action pronto.

Today, I received five phone calls, all of them quite chaotic with a din of voices in the background, making it nearly impossible to catch what a woman on the line was saying. She mentioned something about our Sky internet being down, but we don’t even subscribe to Sky! Plus, this is a business line, not a residential number. I reckon it would be wise for the fraud squad to step in and tackle these deceitful charlatans!

I've received multiple calls from this number today regarding Virgin and my computer, but it's all nonsense. Clearly a scam that needs to be shut down!

Got a call claiming to be from Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my internet. Told me to turn on my PC. Don’t fall for it, just end the call and block the number!

This number has been ringing me up constantly all week. One minute they say they are from Sky, then Virgin Media, saying there’s an issue with my internet. It's really annoying and feels like harassment to me.

Been getting loads of calls every day this past week, all saying they're from Virgin Media. They stick to a script no matter what, even when I tried to change the subject they just went right back to it. They try to get you to open a website through the command prompt. Don't fall for it!

I received three phone calls from this number today. I mentioned that I wasn't a BT customer, and by the third time, I firmly stated that I would take action and notify the police if they called again. The chap abruptly ended the conversation! :)

Got a call claiming to be from Virgin Media or Sky about internet stuff. Total scam, just end the call as soon as you hear anything like that. Don’t listen to what they say!

I received three calls from them today, claiming that a virus had infiltrated my router. Since I'm no longer a BT customer, I didn't pay them any mind and instead looked up the number online-turns out it’s a total scam!

Isn’t it maddening? Surely the authorities should be able to hunt these con artists down and throw the book at them! I've received a trio of calls from these dodgy so-called BT representatives within just an hour. I ended up telling the last one to shove off! I wonder if they’ll actually grasp the message... Hard to say, really!

Haha, this bloke said he was calling from Virgin about my internet issues. Asked me to switch on my computer, but I just played along, pretending it was upstairs and took ages to load (had zero plans to actually switch it on). Kept him hanging for about 10 minutes, then he wanted to pass me to his supervisor. I bombarded her with dumb questions, then asked for her phone number, which she gave me. Told her I’d ring back, and she goes, “ok love you”. Turns out it was a fake number. Don’t fall for these muppets!

I received a rather alarming call from this number, during which the caller claimed that someone was accessing my account without permission. They insisted I follow their complicated instructions to resolve the problem. However, the line was filled with a cacophony of background noise, making it incredibly difficult to decipher anything clearly. When I pressed them for some verification, like my name and address, they provided completely inaccurate details. They stubbornly maintained that I must be this ‘other individual’ associated with an address I had never encountered before. It was utterly bonkers! I told them they had got the wrong number and promptly disconnected the call.

02085705952 - Someone rang me from this number, kept saying I was with AOL for my internet when I actually use BT and Virgin Media. The guy, who sounded Asian, was really pushing that my provider was AOL and tried to say they'd send an engineer round to check. I told him straight up not to send anyone or I'd report it to the police, then he just hung up. Definitely scammers, wish there was more done to stop them. I've since blocked the number on my phone.

I've just received a call from this number and my word, the background noise was absolutely deafening! I struggled to catch what the bloke was saying. All I gathered was something about BT being compromised and that he could assist me with it. I requested several times to be put through to someone else, as I found it quite challenging to make out his words-between the chaos in the background and his pronounced Asian accent. However, he kept droning on with the same lines, so I decided to cut the line. Naturally, I took to Google to check out the number. Additionally, I've received two voice messages, but again, they're just filled with that dreadful background clatter.

This morning, I received two calls, one at 08:16 and another at 09:16. It's quite peculiar, really, as I also endured two calls yesterday while I was toiling away at work. Thankfully, my partner was at home to field those inquiries since he was on the back shift. The poor quality of the line was frustrating; it was all rather crackly and difficult to comprehend. The only thing I could make out was something about BT’s technical department. Quite baffling!

Received a phone call today that I immediately pegged as a scam. I strung the bloke along for a whopping 26 minutes! My laptop was struggling due to battery issues, so I fumbled about trying to follow his steps. I threw in a couple of fake error alerts just for good measure. When he eventually directed me to search for something on Google, I complied and promptly read out that it was indeed a scam. He swiftly hung up on me! Honestly, quite unfortunate for him that he picked up the phone to an IT pro!

02085705952 - Been getting constant calls for over a day now, it’s proper harassment. Every time I tell them to leave me alone, they just ring back again. I warned them that if they keep it up, I’d have to involve the police. Told the bloke to stop calling, and he flat out refused! Then he said I was shouting at him! Asked to speak to his manager, and he wouldn’t let me, but eventually handed me over. When I spoke to the “manager”, he just hung up on me because I told them to stop calling! Will keep an eye on it and update if it carries on.

I have no idea how 02085705952 got hold of my ex's landline, but they ring up 3 or 4 times a day. I’ve had more than my fill of this particular number! The chap on the other end has a rather confrontational Asian accent and just won’t quit interrupting. He keeps insisting he’s from BT, claiming my computer has been compromised. No matter how I try to reason with him, he just keeps talking over me. I even requested a letter confirming an appointment and asked to be put through to a floor manager, but he’s not having any of it. It's the same chaotic din in the background too, perpetually. For anyone thinking BT could fix this, they actually can’t because the number’s not really BT’s. It’s a fake number made using voice over IP, same as loads of others. If it was easy to shut them down, telcos would have done it already. The only real fix would be to block all voip calls from coming through, but that’d block legit services like Skype too.

A guy with an Asian accent called me saying his name was Mark and that he was from BT, my internet supplier. I told him the police warned me about calls like this from scammers trying to steal info. He seemed puzzled, asking how an internet company could be involved in that. I then asked him for a London phone number so I could verify the call.
