Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon about our Prime account. We've got Prime, but this sounds like a total scam to me. Be careful if you answer! I told Amazon about it and they said they already know about this kind of scam going around.

I got a call supposedly from Amazon, a recorded message saying I needed to pay nearly £80 to renew an Amazon Prime subscription I don't even have. It freaked me out a bit since I did accidentally sign up for one a while back, only to cancel it straight away when I noticed. Then, right after that, I got another call about my internet being down and the person said they could sort it out for me.

i caught bits of a message, all jumbled up, but i definitely heard ‘amazon’ mentioned. didn’t make much sense, so i just ended the call.

I got a voicemail saying my Amazon Prime had been renewed and I’d been charged. Since I do shop on Amazon but never signed up for Prime, I logged into my account just to be sure and everything looked fine - no Prime membership there. The message told me to press one or two to check or confirm, but I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.
