twice this morning this number rang me, i picked up both times but the caller just hung up, watch out could be a scam.

I picked up the phone and heard a quick snippet of music before a bloke said “hello” really fast. Then, just as quick, the line was dead. I didn’t ring back ‘cause I wasn’t sure if it would cost a bomb.

I wasn’t really sure who was calling, so I tried ringing back and all I got was that old dial-up noise, so probably some sort of scam, I reckon.

I had the misfortune of conversing with a rather dodgy bloke with a British twang, who informed me that the warranty on our washing machine had lapsed. I promptly labelled him a charlatan, to which he ominously retorted, "I know your address!" How quaint to add a hint of intimidation to his ruse! We're registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I think I’ll investigate the possibility of lodging a complaint against these rogues.
