Today I got a call from a lady who spoke with an Indian accent, introduced herself as Veronica and tried to ask me some questions. I told her nicely that I wasn't comfortable answering and she just said thanks, goodbye and ended the call fairly politely. Still, these calls happen so often I'm really over it. Then, just a couple of hours later the same number called again but no one said anything before they hung up. I get these kinds of calls every day now. The worst by far are the so-called Microsoft scams from India - when you challenge them they can get really nasty and say awful stuff.

Got loads of calls from different numbers claiming to be from the U.K. Preference Service. I ended up blocking every one of them and now I just ignore any call from a number I don’t know.

I’ve noticed that it’s a call centre that tends to cut the line just to encourage you to ring back. It feels a bit dodgy, doesn’t it? Almost like they’re banking on the fact that you'll feel compelled to call again. Quite unsettling, if you ask me!

I got a call from 020 8555 6660 but didn’t pick it up. The voicemail left was that weird automated message I mentioned before. Afterwards, I got a ring from 01242 314526 and an Indian accent lady was calling, claiming to be from some UK organisation, asking me to do a quick 3 question survey. I told her I wasn’t the person she was looking for and that she had the wrong number. Without saying anything else, she just hung up on me. Proper rude!
