Today, I got a random call from someone pretending to be with OpenReach, saying my IP had switched from private to public. They wanted me to check if it was public or not, then asked me to stay on the line so they could guide me through some settings. I immediately knew it was dodgy and told them my IP was private, then they just cut off. Just for anyone wondering, a public IP address is the one your ISP assigns to your router so you can get online. It’s unique and visible on the internet, unlike a private one.

Received a voicemail that was rather ominous, warning about disconnecting my internet... pure scam. I've now blocked the number.
